Over a period of time, any chemicals you put into your hair, including hair colour, will eventually damage it. Think of all the 40-50 years old women who look 60 - 70 and wearing a wig. Try to use natural products if possible. Be happy with who you are

My hair is very very dark also, almost black and I've learned that going lighter is more difficult than if you had ligh hair and were coloring it darker. Mine pulls a reddish tint if I try to go lighter so I suggest if you are going lighter or are considering highlighting, let a professional do it. It'll be worth the money in the long run rather than having to fix it. If you are adding color such as those bright contrasting ones, you should be fine as long as there is no peroxide in the product. Check the box before you buy. They all show what your color might look like on the box.

That depends on what color you change it to. If you change it to an extremely bright color there is a good chance it may damage. It would also be a good to condition after washing at least every 2 wks and sit under a dryer for about 30 min. But definitely consult a professional beautician for advice.

properly It did no longer on my hair. additionally it would not incorporate ammonia or peroxide so its secure fairly. Lasts 4-6 shampoos. Coats outdoors of cuticle and right down to next layer. may be greater everlasting in some situations if hair is overporous and enables coloration to stain deep into the hair shaft

I color mine and I think it gives it more body. Just don't do it any more often than every six weeks. With black hair though, what color are you wanting get? If you want it lighter, best leave it to the professionals.
