Nero packages sectors on a disk to make them fit better but any time you burn to media the files get little bit bigger because of how the sectors are laid out. The simplest way to compress media is change the image format or resolution you use or else zip the files.

All depends on what type of file it is .. if you are just using it for storage then use WinZip to crush the file first (even better use WinAce) and then burn it ..

This works amazingly well with Word docs... but beware of already compressed formats such as JPG which will not shrink at all.

If it is a movie file you could always change resolution etc within your movie package, anything that reduces file size.

Yes...If you are burning for back up or storage then use a DVD disk (as long as your burner does DVD), if it does not do DVD, you can use winzip, winrar or another compression prog to pack the files into a smaller space. If you are making a music disk, you can also try changing the songs from audio to mp3, as they take up less room, or having no pause between tracks.
