Seborrhoeic dermatitis is inflammation of the oil glands. On the scalp it causes dandruff. And you say you have male pattern baldness along with it...... well you need to treat your SD first. Oral medications are a must... So you need to meet a dermatologist.
Stop oiling your hair. Oil will worsen seborrhoeic dermatitis and can lead to hairfall.
Androgenetic alopecia or male pattern baldness is a hereditary condition. There are certain medication (finesteride and minoxidil) which could stop the hairfall. But these are prescription medicine and should be started with doctors consult.
Stress is known to aggrevate both SD and baldness. So please meet a doctor again.... remember both the conditions can be controlled and not cured.

Hi Friend, Tell your friend that their is nothing to worry. Hair loss is common in 90% of men. But the age at which hair loss starts varies dramatically. If he is suffering from Male Pattren Baldness(Androgenic Allopecia) then its curable. There are two drugs available in the market, Finasteried(tablet) & Minoxidill (gel), which are approved by US Food & Drug Dept. and marketed world wide with variety of commercial names. But, before using these drugs its better u consult a Dermatologist or a Trichologist. Hope this is helpful to you. With best wishes, Azad

I was going to be a smartass when I read your question but once I read the details now I'm really sorry. You say even dermatologists can't help you? You might try webofscience or any other academic journal search engine....that way you will at least come across the same information that the specialists could give you. Good luck that really sucks.
