“Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other, and because men spend their wealth to maintain them. Good women are obedient. They guard their unseen parts because God has guarded them. As for those among you who fear disobedience, admonish them and send them to beds apart and beat them.” Sura 4:34

“...Women shall with justice have rights similar to those exercised against them, although men have a status above women. God is mighty and wise.” Sura 2:228

YEah, The whole point of religion is having control over a society. Islam does it, Christianity does it, Judaism does it, Which religion doesn't do it? Personally I believe in God, but i never accept religions. The point of making restrictions is 2 achieve control over a society. Thats why muslims are told 2 go to mosque 5 times a day and christians have 2 visit church every sunday ,Pope and Church are exercising huge power over people. Freedom is limited.

Its the same reason that Men are considered above women in this religion. They have even restricted the powers of women that they can have a better control over people.

They say that men can marry several times and can have as much wives as he want. Well, do u think its right??? Atleast from the point of a woman??
Again, women have 2 cover her assets, including face. WHy?? And man can dress as he wants???

If you read the verse closely you will notice that God is Wise hence God knows what you don’t!

Muslims never spin in circles. You do.

You quote an atheists source that don't believe in the mere existence of God! So why even care about religion something you don't beleive in and why Islam in particular???

Can you entertain us about other mean things other religions propagate, like racism, hatred and exploitation!

Treating women in Islam is far better than any other discipline, check out statistics on abuse adultery illegitimate children prostitution and exploitation and many other ills you know about and come back and tell us what you find out. Tell us how many are in Muslim countries and non-Muslim countries?

While Islamic countries are not perfect nor are Muslims, the Quran is and it makes rational sense. Quran is proven to be the word of God without distortion. It was written once and it is in its original words sense its descend from God by Angel Gabriel. Besides Allah (God) is accessible to anyone without proxy, you only ask for Allah and he will answer, of course in total submission and belief.

The matter of fact is women are weaker beings and naturally will need protection by men. When some women are disobedient because they challenge their nature and expose themselves to harm and exploitation it is obviously better to sit them straight for their own good, even if takes a bit of force. I am sure you would push out your loved one out of the way of a speeding car without asking them if they have a choice. A true man should protect his women and treat her like a jewel not to be touched or even seen by all. Your mother, sister or wife is your pride and you take care of her because she is weaker and needs you to stand by her and not let the wild animals prey on her unless you lack honor dignity and ethics.

Your obvious deliberet Islam bashing is transparent. While suspicion about your motive looms, I would hope you are not pushed by material motive but by intellectual enquiry. I hope you someday will come to understand and respect other people beliefs and clear your conscious.

again, the same question. i believe answers and plentiful explanations inclusive of useful websites (NOT from "atheistfoundation.org"???) have been provided in the previous question titled "Women under Islam..."

again, i would like to emphasize that as a Muslim women, i've never felt even the teeny bit 'oppressed'. in fact, i'm relieved, blessed, happy, and feel very secure in Islam. Islam upholds women's rights. there are loads of proofs on this.

what else can i do to ascertain u on this?

Yep, just like the Bible is full of hated toward women. I hope all Christian, God-fearing women are living by these Biblical rules:

"When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her." (Deuteronomy 25:11-12)

"Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go." (Judges 19:24-25)

"Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up." (Hosea 13:16)

"For from garments cometh a moth, and from women wickedness. Better is the churlishness of a man than a courteous woman, a woman, I say, which bringeth shame and reproach." (Eccles. 42:13-14)

"Let the women learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (I Timothy 2:11-14)

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything." (Ephesians 5:22-24)

"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35)

( not those who is unbelievers, but sincere in learning our faith)

AL-KAFIROON (THE DISBELIEVERS, ATHEISTS)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.

Say: O disbelievers!
I worship not that which ye worship;
Nor worship ye that which I worship.
And I shall not worship that which ye worship.
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion.
