It is their crime. That said however in most Western countries it is an offence to know about crime and not report it. To do so makes you an accessory 'after the fact' and if you know that they are continuing to commit the crimes and do nothing it also makes you an 'accessory before the fact'.

So yes - you should be held accountable. This does not make you guilty of their crime in the first case (After the fact) but does make you accountable because you have committed your own crime!

In the second case (Before the fact) you would be held to be guilty in conjunction with them in whatever crime they are committing.

If you know they've commited a crime and do not tell the police, that's aiding and abeting.

Well, crossing the border illegally is illegal too... Reporting violators is the law as well....

But, tell me this, why are citizens obligated to abide by the law if illegals arn't?
