If I **said** what I thought of that......turkey........Yahoo would come down on me SO HARD for inappropriate language!!!
Even for a strict Calvinist Predestinationist, he's extreme.

And I think the protesting is just because he's gotten addicted to the attention, and in another nation, they'd be less likely to tolerate his hateful antics.....

Fred Phelps is a disgusting human being. Take a look at the below excerpt from Wikipedia. It takes a whole lot of hatred (not Christ-like love) to do and say these vile things:

Rev. Phelps gained national attention for interrupting the trial process and funeral of Matthew Shepard, a young gay man who was gay bashed and then murdered in Laramie, Wyoming, in 1998. Since then, Rev Phelps has gained further notoriety by protesting the funerals of American personnel killed in action during the War Against Terror. He maintains these deaths are inevitable due to the American government's perceived support of homosexuality. He says such deaths, along with other tragic events such as the September 11 attacks and Hurricane Katrina, are caused by the Christian God because of that god's hatred of homosexuals and America's tolerance of them. He also claims the 2004 Asian tsunami was directed by the Christian God as a result of Sweden's perceived support of homosexuals.

Because he is a miserable old cranklepuss. A control freak with a history of alcoholism and drug abuse -- a raging, mad father who beat his children and wife. Phelps is a disbarred lawyer with a criminal record.

Read the attached for interviews with family members who were lucky enough to escape his cult. Fred is a very twisted, neurotic little man who knows he is wrong but he has to put on a show. He used the bible as an excuse to justify his need for hatred.

An interview with nutty Phelps is also included in the 2nd link.

Not all of us are going if God has anything to say about it. Jesus died for us to have a chance to get into heaven. He'd be peeved if all that he did and went thru was for nothing and not one single person got in.

That guy is nuts! He is not teaching like Jesus would. It is his own made up version of the bible.
