The only candidates are George Dubya Bush, and Osama bin Laden.
So no, the Antichrist will either be an Arab, or a jackass Texan.

"When the Jews return to Zion,
And a comet fills the sky,
and the Roman Empire rises,
Then You and I must die.
From the eternal sea he rises,
Raising armies on either shore
Turning man against his brother
'Till man exists no more." -- The Omen, 1976
"Expect him not from the East nor the West."
The key thing about this matter is to look into the meaning of the a given symbol(s) (666, Star of David, Pentagram, "Whatever other symbol you can think of) to derive wisdom.
The power of symbology cannot be overstated. A quick glance into Nazi Germany and the Swastika is in order if you doubt the truth of the foregoing statement.
So is it with many other symbols, with the number "666" being chief among them. People have mused about certain historical personages as being the "one," so to speak, when even in the New Testament the diabolical entity possessing a pig spoke to the Christ his name: "I am Legion...for we are many."
So while ignorant fools surmise that Ronald Wilson Reagan was the Antichrist because each of his names had 6 letters in them (Ronald=6 Wilson=6 Reagan=6, therefore Reagan=Antichrist, get it?)...the real wisdom lies not in who or whom is/was/will be the "Antichrist" but in the subtle and often invisible admixture of "Truth," "truth," "Fiction," and "fiction" and just what the inevitable synthesis therefrom calculates to...
Diabolus Vobiscum.

The Catholic Church says very little about the Anti-Christ or the end times. The focus of the Catholic Church is not on the end of time, but on the present time.
Jesus Christ will return like a theif in the night. There are countless parables in the Gospels that show us that we have no idea when Jesus will return, so be ready for His return every day of your life.
I suggest that you stop wasting your time and energy thinking about Anti-Christs and end time prophesies and simply put your faith in God and concentrate your time and efforts into establishing the Kingdom of God - a society of peace, justice and mercy - in your lifetime.
One way to begin is by showing a bit of compassion and love to the homeless on the street corner by giving them something to eat and a little hope and love. Go to the Project Hopebags site at http://www.hopebags.com for details.

If the scriptures stand as is, then the Anti-Christ does come or is a decedent of the Middle East, so it more than likely will be a Semite, which can be either Jew, Muslim or Christian convert.
It is entirely possible the anti-christ could be a avowed "Christian" which explains why many people may follow him or her.
Just because someone says they're a Christian doesn't make them a good Christian, just like someone who says they are a Muslim means that they are a terrorist.

Jean Dixon said she had a vision that she felt meant the
Anti-Christ will be Egyptian. It is believed that King Solomons
Temple will be rebuilt. And that the False Prophet making an image, (statue), of the Beast, and making it speak. Is the
Abomination of the Desolation mentioned in Scripture, and
will take place in the Temple. Time will tell.

The Antichrist WAS Constantine I !
The definition of an Antichrist is a poser of the christian faith who plans to mislead its followers;
Constantine I "converted" to Christianity from paganism and had an assembly of bishops [Council of Nicaea, 325 AD] to change the Holy dates to fall under pagan solstices!
Also, since the assembly people referred to the TRINITY [a blasphemy]
HE WAS ALSO BAPTIZED A YEAR BEFORE HIS DEATH!

Actually, the Bible calls him the Assyrian. So, he should be from Syria, or of Syrian descent. He will rebuild the temple, then desecrate it when he goes in and declares that he is God.

He won't be a christian or a Jew but he will lead the people astray.
Sort of like the republican party or the democrats.
