Depends on what the kid was taught by the parents. I see a lot of them don't.

No I don't think so but it depends really on how they are rased and the disaplen they get cause when I was little all the way to being a teenager I did little things that would be disrespectful to my parents but now that I see kids and the way they act to their parents I wasn't so bad after all. And I thanked my mom for displening me because if she didn't I wouldn't have turned out the way I am now and wouldn't respect people the way that I respect them now. I'm not a parent yet but I do give the ones that deserve to be parents( you know what I mean) the credit and respect for what they do. And I thank God for my parents cause I wouldn't have been here without them...

Childriens are gods gift
If the childrens are not respecting the parents then its Parents fault not the kids.
I saw practically lot of Kids are respecting the parents. Its all because their parents are giving mutual respect and the most important thing is with the flavour of LOVE and affection....
So parents do give lot of love and affection with respect then u will in turn get 1000 % more respect and love.

Respect is earned not commanded.
Kids learn about respect at home from their parents, so if respect is missing from parenting, chances are the kids will soon reflect it, and soon it will backfire on the parents.
Instead of trying to enforce it, ask how did I loose their respect? Ask them whom do they respect at school, a teacher or a coach that respects them, who is fun to be with?
Behave with respect around them and soon they will learn that, once again.

Parents is the key word. Since the past 30 plus years gone by... Its been primarily 1 (one) parent...not both. http://faq.acf.hhs.gov/cgi-bin/acfrightnow.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=70 Thankfully there are still some linear/patriarcal http://www.ifeminists.net/introduction/editorials/2006/0118roberts.html (Dad, Mom, and Children) families out there. Children in an intact home significantly do better than children whom aren't... It is fact, and on a large scale. However, grossly ignored. http://www.fathersandfamilies.org/NEWS/BTSResearchCritiqueWithComments.pdf

Everyone today is soo "safety" conscious. There is nothing wrong with safety... But it is to an extreme... another big money maker.
Also, lets teach girls to quit hitting boys http://www.mensrights.com.au/dvusa13g.htm (I see this daily)... Boys to quit hitting girls (however, this rule already embedded and established).
Wives to stop hitting their husbands (however, this is a social acceptance of abuse, also considered "comical") http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/5092100.stm . Husbands to stop hitting their wives (another embedded and established).

Yes, of course. The kids will reflect their parents. If you are good at them then they will be good enough upon you. You have to understand their needs and problems well and remember to give much respect to them. Definetly they will respect you

why you have this doubt. Each kid respects their parents. In present situation kids are more smarter then their parents. So parents feel that they do not respect them.
