There is no sure fire way to battle homesickness, its gonna happen, because you love your family and friends. If you didn't get homesick you would not be normal. Ä°ts all part of the adventure though so enjoy all of it, the good and the bad.

Take some photos of loved ones with you and remember they are only a phone call away.

There is no shame on having a cry when you miss your family and when times are bad just remind yourself you chose to got overseas for a reason, you'll be a better person for it when you do eventually go home.

Have a great time and good luck!

In this age where the telecommunication is surging forward to greater heights there is no need for you to feel homesick. You can call them and you can e mail them to be in touch, also you can chat with your family with web cam.But one of the best ways to beat homesickness is to make friends in your office and in your neighbourhood. This will help you to relax and helps you from feeling lonley.Friends are the best thing to a person after family. So make lots of friends and go out with them during week ends.Enjoy with them during festivals and try to keep yourself always busy,so that you dont think much of family.Intially you will feel homesick but once you settle down then friendship is the best remedy for home sickness and also freinds become your family.Dont worry you will just do fine.Just watch.Your family will be missing you while you will be having a blast with your new friends.
Advance wishes for your new job and for settling down.

I am a Merchant Mariner and go to sea for months at a time. When I first left, I was home sick now I don't get home sick at all. I can't offer any cures but I can tell you that my first home sickness lasted about 3 weeks then I was OK again. Have fun, go out and do stuff, and you'll never regret going. If you let yourself be bummed out than you'll regret not taking advantage of your time overseas.
