I once went to a nutrainlist a while back and she told me that it is not bad to eat late at night. The bad thing is eating sweets and junk, but if you eat fresh fruits and veggies it is not bad for you.

Lisa M is right, its a myth. For bodybuilders you must take advantage of eating right before you go to bed to reduce catabolic activity as we sleep. Providing your body with some slow absorbing protien such as micelluar casein is a must. It takes between 5-7hours. Which means no breakdown of that hard earned muscle. Now i wouldnt suggest eating soemthing that would spike your insulin. For instance a high GI carb. That would promote fat gain, at any time of the day.

Your metabolism does not stop but it does slow down. At least thats what I have heard. But even if that is true, lets say you get 8 hours of sleep, and you eat right before bed. None of the calories you consumed will be burnt off, which would cause you to gain weight over time.

its a myth. i know because i lost almost 100 pounds eating right before bed every night. as long as you dont go over your caloric intake for the day, you'll be fine. for example, i allowed myself 1,000-1,200 calories a day and also exercised (cardio) 3x or more a week for 45 min each time. i drank coffee and water all day and maybe 200 -300 calories during the course of the day. then after my hubby got home at night and i made dinner, i went to walk. by the time i got back it was 9pm. then i would have to put the kids to bed etc. by the time i got a chance to eat my dinner and desert, it was 10pm. so whatever calories i had left (usually around 800) thats what i would consume before bed! i used to weigh 210 now i weigh 115.

Not that it's bad, it's just that your metabolism starts to slow down from 9pm onwards, the digested food turn into fat as it is not required for energy used especially at night.
Try not eat anything else after 9pm. You will see the difference slowly. Good Luck!

No that's NOT TRUE. Just an old myth. They've proven that the ONLY thing that matters is the TOTAL that you eat each day. The TIME you eat has absolutely NO EFFECT.

It is true.. Try to have yr last lunch 2 to 3 hours before going to sleep. Your metabolism slows down and you don't burn any calories. If it's getting late and you want to eat something before going to bed, try something light like fruits, yogurt with honey (the best combination) or bread with some cheese.
I usually eat the bread with cheese + 1 glass of milk.

I surely have heard that cheese has that effect, whether i do no longer think of is this manner of nutrition you devour, i'm exceedingly advantageous that eating too lots earlier going to mattress is what motives you to have nightmares. It had befell to me.

you should not eat 3 hours before you go to bed...this is when you gain the most weight because you are less likely to get any exercise at this time

it is true that metabolism may stop working and due to that it is most likely to gain weight, this is no rumour as the same problem has occured to one of my friends and now no matter what she does, it is not possible to reduce her weight, she has also visited the doctor for this problem and believe me it is all true!!!
