Just ignore them when they do this, they will soon figure out that barking and whinging wont get them anywhere! Also cover the crates with a blanket at night this will make them feel more secure.

Ohhhhh....you gotta love dachshunds! :)
I totally agree with goldensunshine48 and gloriab61. Obedience training helps big time with these guys, too. One of the things that has been a blessing for us (besides vast amounts of love and patience over the years) is a small squirt bottle. We tell our little one, "Quiet!" followed by a little spritz of water. It helps when we're in the car and she's at the window trying to kill people, cars, animals, trees, rocks (the list is endless! LOL!). It doesn't hurt her, and she calms down. Now we just have to say her name and show her the bottle. She "mumbles" a little under her breathe, but she settles down.
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! NEVER, EVER GIVE YOUR DOG NYQUIL. It contains acetaminophen which is TYLENOL. IT CAN KILL YOUR DOG!
Good luck!

When I adopted my little guy, he too cried all night long. I determined that he was lonely being in a new enviroment and by himself. I moved his crate to the side of my bed so he could see me at night. This seemed to work. and then I gradually moved the crate back further and further to the side of my nightstand where it is today. I really believe your little guys are just lonely and need to see/smell your presence. Patience is the key. Good Luck!

They are trying your patience!!! Dogs are smarter than we think and they are trying to see how long it takes you to give in. Try turning on a radio or tv till they go to sleep. If they still bark and aren't hungry or have to go pottie, just tell them NO and be stern. Make them know you MEAN it. Take a newspaper and hit the cage on the top. The sound of a newspaper scares them. Good luck.

If they are barking .. check out to make sure there is nothing wrong with them... Do you give them enough excercise? Give them a toy to keep them busy.......if nothing works........ do this? GEt a empty can of soda....put in some pennies.... tape the top......everytime they bark..........give the can a vigorous shake and say sharply.......... NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!........ walk away ......to show you mean it......If they stop ......say good boys . repeat as needed.......... believe me...........It will work...........It worked for my two .. rat terriers that used to bark at anything and everything . Good luck........

Put a wind up alarm clock next to their crates. They'll think it's their mothers' heartbeat and sleep.
Make sure the alarm is not on.

the recent neighbor canines are barking because of the fact they hear all the different community canines bark. in the event that they have countless canines they may be breaking county ordinance regulations. verify and spot how many canines according to enjoyed ones. Or call animal administration on them . exceedingly now that your dad grow to be bit. It would not look like they care approximately their animals.

good luck. I have not idea on how to shut these dogs up. You could try bark collors(shock or mist), but I am pretty sure thats all these dogs do is bark.
