Why in the world would anyone put a bivalve mollusk on a dog?? A clam, maybe . . . but a mussel - puh-lease! Talk about cruelty.

You're seeing the outcome of bad coaching or no coaching. You should even have her evaluated through a vet in case there is an underlying scientific hindrance. Beagles aren't dumb dogs. I have a beagle and my earlier dog was once a beagle and so they're just right wise loving dogs. My dog went to obedience coaching at 6 months and she is high-quality. She does no longer go in the apartment and she or he does not get into whatever and he or she virtually not ever barks. It usually is too late in your gift canine however expectantly the next (if there's one) will advantage from what you've got learned with this one. It can be predominant to get them coaching or if no longer viable the owner must investigate coaching systems and them as quickly as feasible. Dogs need to please and be part of the percent (family).

First, get her in obedience classes. Talk to the trainer, you may need classes for aggresive dogs. The trainer teaches you how to train your dog. In the mean time, muzzle her around other dogs. A muzzle is better than her biting another dog and you end up paying big time.

You are seeing the outcome of dangerous coaching or no coaching. You will have to even have her evaluated through a vet in case there is an underlying clinical obstacle. Beagles don't seem to be dumb puppies. I have a beagle and my prior puppy used to be a beagle and they are well clever loving puppies. My puppy went to obedience coaching at 6 months and she or he is satisfactory. She does no longer cross within the residence and she or he does no longer get into some thing and she or he practically under no circumstances barks. It is also too overdue to your gift puppy however optimistically the following (if there's one) will improvement from what you may have found out with this one. It's foremost to get them coaching or if no longer feasible the landlord will have to check coaching procedures and begin them as quickly as feasible. Dogs desire to thrill and be side of the % (household).

You don't need a muzzle. You need some major help with you and your dog. By muzzling the dog, you're not helping it.... and the problem will only get worse. You need to get to the underlying problem.
Please read Cesar Milan's book and possibly purchase his videos.

Spend the time and effort in learning how to help your dog. A balanced dog is a wonderful addition to the family. A dog that is "crazy" is not fun to be around and in your case, possibly dangerous.
Good luck

A muzzle is design to train with excessive barking and unwanted aggressive behavior. I do the same with with my chihuahua not because I don't love him but because I want him to know what is considered as "okay" behavior and what is considered as "unwanted" behavior. My dog is usually fine but he's got great hearing, normally we put him in his kennel for time out as soon as he goes into mischieft. But eventually that became his sanctuary to hide from me when he did caused mischief. So the muzzle is a way for me to tell him he's been bad and I don't appreciate that behavior so he gets the muzzle and time out in the kennel for aggressive behavior and excessive barking. The only thing is you have to catch your dog right on the spot at that very moment. Anything that's passed won't make your firm displine by displining them for it later.

It's not cruel its considered as part of training your dog to know what is okay and what is unwanted.

Another thing, since she's not used to other dogs/people, the best thing to do is to actually get her used to people/dogs. Unless you can handle her by yourself, I recommend taking along another family member with you to a dog park or park in general. Have the muzzle on her and keep it on the whole time. Walk her if possible. Hold the leash close to you so that she's walking right next to you. Every time she thinks about going for another dog, tug the leash hard. A couple of times will keep her mind off attacking. Also, I think she only has so much aggression is because she's either kept in an area too long and doesnt get enought excercise. After taking her out for walks should release her tensions and she shouldn't be aggressive.

If you want to introduce people or dogs, make sure you don't introduce them directly face to face. Some dogs considered that as a challenge to fight or attack sometimes. Have them come from the side of her... remember always hold on tight to the leash. Give her about 2-3 feet of leash freedom. Not too much unless you've felt she's under your control. Consult with a local pet trainer near you, i.e. Petsmart. Good Luck!

Not at all cruel and responsible on your part. But if she is having these issues you need to take her to a behaviorist to help stop it.

The muzzle will not stop the barking but it will keep her from biting.
