Depends, of course, on which religion you are talking about. If history is any indication, then religion is headed in more or less the same direction as it has been heading in the previous decades. Namely, a falling away of the faithful, a rise of the fanatic and an ever-increasing distance from a more technically oriented and secular society.

If you started a new religion today in the form of ... lets say.... catholicism. You would end up in prison on all sorts of abuse related charges. All reigions are fairly horrible in the way worshipers have to adhere to the various abusive doctrines there in. The sooner religion becomes a thing of the past, the better people will treat one another.

Ignorance will continue, until we stop brainwahing our children.
Even if there was massive bloodshed in the coming decades, I doubt mankind could leave behind its dillusions.
For man would rather commit terrible wrongs than to admit they haven't the first clue about the nature of the universe.

I agree with Confused...I mean look at America, they're making everything PC you can't even say Merry Christmas or Happy Easter without getting sued by a non-Christian or them suing the store you're in when you're buying gifts. I bet they outlaw the nativity scene within the next 3 yrs

Peace Love and unity, freedom for all and happiness for all mankind. Rational thought being taught to all followers, 10% donations kept for the church and 90% given to the poor. Religous differences will have been put aside. and all religoins will embrace humanity as the most important thing for us to focus on. Just have a look around clearly its just around the cornor.

I wish I knew for sure. Here in the US we are seeing mega-churches as the newest thing. They are Christian churches which are not humdrum and boring. They offer everything from Day Care programs, to teaching literacy, to aerobics, travel as missionaries, etc. as well as preaching the Gospel.

Hopefully it's going away. Spirituality and belief in God are good things, religion is a bad thing.
