No, that's stupid, it's not a balanced diet, she'll be doing all kinds of bad things to her body, even if she does indeed lose weight. Also, chocolate biscuits are all fat and sugar, you need vitamins, protein, roughage, she'll be all up and down and tired from the sugar and then probably constipated from the lack of fibre. This is nuts. If she does lose weight it will be from starvation so her body will learn that she cannot be trusted and when she does eat something substantial it will hang on to those calories as long as it can. She could eat loads of fresh fruit and vegetables, be far less hungry, have the same amount of calories, and lose wieght in a safe, controlled way.

you're right in saying that the only way to lose weight is to do BOTH DIET AND EXERCISE. there's nothing safer and sounder than a sensible diet rich in vegetable and fruit...stay away from eating too much processed food (such as that chocolate biscuit) because those kinds of foods can be easily processed and if you are sedentary person tend to be converted as fat. eat food rich in fiber, the less processed, the better...so brown rice, not white, wheat bread not white bread, sweet potato, small potato, not those big idaho ones.

i've been on the south beach diet for a long while...it teaches you to eat really healthy, the good carbs and the good fats. no processed food and junk food until you've reached your target weight, once you do, you can cheat and get away with it...

tell her to go to a doctor or a nutritionist....there are gyms that offer nutritional advice along with an exercise routine, i suggest your aunt does that....

3 chocolate biscuits a day and then only water, I dont think this is a healthy option. The three buscuits will not equate to say 1000 calories, the drinking water bit is ok, but I feel you aunt may lack a lot of energy on this diet. Saying that I remember many years ago that Suzi Quatro (not sure if thats spelt correctly) only ate chips. She ate them I believe for about 9 months, drinking only water and eating only chips and she apparently lost loads of weight. When I need to loose a quick stone, and it does go on much easier now im getting a little older....is slimfast, breakfast, lunch and then I have a normal tea that I would usually have, spegetti, roast, no chocolate and crisps though and do this for about 3-4 weeks. It works for me

It doesn't sound very healthy to me.

I know it's harsh but I've always thought that if you've got a pet that's overweight and you take it to a vet, you'll probably be told to exercise that pet so many times a day, and be told how much to feed them (and of what type of food) during a day.

If the same strictness was applied to people they would lose weight too - the only thing is you can make your pet follow that regime, but people themselves won't.

At least go to a good nutritionist and get some advice about a healthy diet - I don't think chocolate biscuits are the answer.

Good luck!

It will definitely work. I know from experience because I did exactly the same thing a few years back and lost loads of weight. But I'm not sure it'll do her any good. For a start she'll be starving hungry all the time (I know I was!) and her body needs far more nutrients than she's getting. As a short term solution for immediate weight loss it's fine but if she's serious about keeping the weight off, or needs to lose a lot of weight and therefore to diet long-term, she'll have to use more conventional methods. But either way - good luck to her! At least she's trying x

She sticks to this diet for any length of time and yes, ofcourse she'll lose weight. She'll also get bad skin, weak and unhealthy hair, low energy levels and experience lethargy, her consertration will suffer (and so too her job, if she works), self esteme will drop for sure and she will experience stomach problems. All of this as a result of poor diet.

If she wants to lose weight then i think she should visit the Gym 3 times a week, eat off a smaller plate so her food portions are smaller but don't look too small in relation to the plate, Eat at regular intervals - Breakfast at 8am, lunch at 12-1pm, a small snack (if you want, although no snack is better) at 4pm'ish, fruit is best, and dinner at 7 or 8pm. Get to bed before 12 every night and wake up at seven. too much sleep is not good for diets as it means that your metabolism is slow for longer during a 24h period and so you are not naturally using energy (burning calories) for very long. Eat healthily, YOU KNOW WHAT HEALTHY IS. Another thing you may want to try is to eat spicy food with rice occationally - chilli, the hotter the better. Chilli speeds up the metaboplism and is also good for the digestive system.

This is just some good advice on how to lose weight and stay healthy. I hope everythng goes well for you.

Good luck

Nope she will be malnurished. And when she finally eats anything else she will gain the weight back, and then some. Because when you malnurish your body, it stores all the calories, and nurtients it can so it wont starve in the future. Think of it like a bear who prepares to hibernate by gaining an extra 50 pounds before winter.Ohh and that fat is even harder to burn off later. Not to mention is can mess with your metabloism long term. Small healthy meals and plenty of water throughout the day is best. If your body goes to long without food it is bad. You should have 5-6 small meals per day. You should eat something every 4-6 hours to loose weight. Seems silly but its works.

Eating 3 chocolate biscuits a day and nothing else is a short route to Crazy Malnourished-Ville. Your body needs certain food types to function properly, especially your brain. You know this already. If you are looking for a quick fix, try a detox for just a few days but eat loads of fruit and veg and lots of water. Try to walk everywhere for a week (at least 3 miles a day) and squeeze in a couple of sessions swimming and a steam / sauna. Apart from losing a bit of weight your mind will feel healithier and you will feel more motivated. Even if you can't manage to continue this routine every day, you will feel a difference and better about yourself. Good luck.

She will first of all start to feel awful when her blood sugar rockets whenever she eats the biscuits, she will start to look awful after that and she will probebly give in to starvation and eat everything in sight and be back to square one! It's a very bad idea. Tell to try the Holford Diet, I have been on it a week and am seeing great results. You can ever eat peanut butter on it.

These kind of diets, if not dangerous, wont work in the long run anyhow. She needs to start eatin again at some point so the weight will go back on. It needs to be a lifestyle change so that results are permanent.
