When you eat unhealthy for such a long time, your blood changes in such a way that it cannot carry toxins and heavy metals out of the body. Also unhealthy eating results in unhealthy excretory organs. If the body cannot get rid of waste then it stores them in fat bone and muscle which can fool people into thinking that they are over fat, but rather over toxic. The body stores them to keep them from damaging organs and out of circulation. Also heavy metals and toxins all carry a positive charge so the body considers them to be electrolytic, so the body will store more water which just makes you look even fatter.

Trick is in most cases get rid of the toxins and heavy metals and you will find the weight will come of extremely quickly even without excercising. The body will do anything to get healthy given half a chance and it sees toxins as extremely unhealthy.

What happens is eat healthy (lots of raw vegetables) and it changes the blood and organs in a way that that it can start to get rid of toxins in the blood at the particular time. In the body things move from high concentration to low concentration. Get rid of toxins in the blood and guess what you have low concentration in the blood and high concentration in fat, bone and muscle so they end up coming out and as long as you keep eating healthy the exchange will continue to take place.

Good thing for you is the fat stores seem to go first then muscle then bone.

The best thing to do is eat lots of raw vegetables. I cant stand raw vegetables but I love them when they are all blended up with some all natural fruit juice.

Avoid as many toxins as possible.

You want to get your blood more alkaline, if you are fat then you can bet your acidic.

Visit this site: Its easily the best

http ://home. bluegrass. net/~jclark/alkaline_foods. htm

Depening on how fat you are its really not good to do intense hard workouts, it can indirectly make you even fatter. As you produce lactic acid the body uses alkaline stores to carry it out of the body, so if your short on stores in the first place its only making matters worse. For the time being dont do anything that makes you out of breath. The body wants to be healthy and if your struggling to breath then thats your bodys way of telling you that it is struggling to remove the lactic acid you have produced, its telling you to slow down. (breathing is one of the body's ways to maintain ph balance in the blood) you will learn all this when you visit the website.

Also the best thing about eating not just healthy foods but alkaline forming foods is the body night and day even when you sleep, especially when you sleep will be detoxifying itself, hence losing weight.

Aslo it increases your energy levels, heavy metals displace magnesium, muscles need magnesium to contract, so eliminate heavy metals and then magnesium can get to it's binding site resulting in more potentially expendable energy.

Bottom line get healthy by eating healthy and the body will by itself asap get back to a healthy weight range which is deemed attractive to the human mind.

Walking four miles a week is good. Two minutes on a treadmill, tho, (running?--you didn't specify what pace-)- doesn't do anything.

Add or switch to a bicycle, indoor or outdoor, or both. Cycling pumps blood but takes the weight and strain off of your supportive muscles.

So does swimming, although then you have to deal with chlorinated pools and too much showering for human skin.

It's good that you don't fear exercise. Only very rarely does someone have an infarction or other heart problem, when exercising. The few cases that happen, are reported disproportionately because of how unusual or scary they are.

It takes a while to build up endurance on a treadmill, but the walking your doing is great. What you probably need to do is adjust your diet, weight loss always takes diet and exercise. Make sure to cut out saturated fats, absolutely no french fries, chips, etc., eat lots of fruits and vegetables, never eat at night, try 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones........the list goes on. You may also want to try swimming for exercise, it works the whole body and yet you don't tire as quickly as with a treadmill. Good luck.

well i dont think 1 mile 4 times a week is good enough....
try more..its not harmful if u walk more.. i guess about 1 to 1.5 miles everday is fine.. but dont try it at once , gradually increase the distance ..never strain yourself..
i dont think the treadmill is a good idea, since your heart is not good and you are 71 years.. dont try for greater speeds at all.. dont exert yourself on it as you will have the danger of heart attack, considering your age...
always dont do exercises in which you over exert yourself like lifting weights, running fast, etc... do some exercises where you can do it slowly for a longer time ,and your heart doesnt need to work a lot suddenly... so walking is good
your heart wont be able to cope up with the sudden increase in the load of work it has to do if u try greater speeds on treadmill....
thank u...
i wish you are healthy always..
i look forward for your blessing for me ...

You look great even though you're 71. Imagine, walking a mile 4 times a week! Well so as to loose 30lbs, try to drink more water everyday. No to carbonated drinks, no ice cream, chocolates and sugar if you are a coffee drinker. Try to eat more fruits and vegetables. But be sure not to eat mangoes, grapes, watermelon, cantaloupe, and pineapple. Try this for this is the voice of experience. My weight's declining from 75kilos to 63kilos in 2 months :)

My parents are both in their late 70's. My dad does plenty of gardening (which can be decent exercise). My mum does swim once or twice a week & also does some yoga, to help flexibility. They also walk probably about 10 miles a week.

I'd suggest talk to your doctor first, then find something you enjoy - I never understand why people do things they don't enjoy, to try to get fit & then they can't keep it up. Life's too short, for that.

Well...you know that you have to cut back on your carbs...and reduce your trigliceryides....If you can add anymore days of walking of course it is better, but don't overdo it as you know...It is too bad you can't just take a nice slow walk instead of the treadmill...start by going around the block...and add a little distance everyday...I don't know how much you weigh..but remember....nothing white to eat as they say...potatoes...rice, ice cream etc. or as my aunt would say, 'if you want to lose weight don't eat any thing that tastes good ' ..lol...anyway, the old stand by...cut the calories and increase the exersice..Personally, i would start going for a walk if possible instead of the treadmill..it is much more natural and pleasurable.

I would suggest you follow your Doctor's advise on this. It sounds great that you are walking and caring for yourself! On this weight loss, I would ask what your motivation is? There is a really good "heart pre-op diet" for patients that are having upcoming surgery and need to lose weight . Its a vegetable soup made without starchy vegetables and certain foods each day only for 7 days. It can be repeated for 2 weeks and weight loss can be up to 20 pounds. Again, check with your Doctor and best of love to you!

try swimming or riding a stationary bike. You might have better results if you mix things up a little bit. Walking is good for you, but since you cant go too fast, you might want to try other low impact excersizes.

walk 1 mile is great

also swim - great for the back (the water adding bouyancy) and the natural resistance of the water to your movements makes hydrotherapy an excellent choice of exercise
