Having thoughts about harming other people and then trying to fight the thoughts is a common symptom of OCD. If you want to talk to people who know a bit more about it, try: www.stuckinadoorway.co.uk , it's a forum for sufferers. And good luck!

You have obsessive-compulsive disorder comlicated with anxiety. See a mental health doctor immediately. OCD is not taken very seriously these days. Medication can help, but only if you can handle some of the side effects. Paxil or Zoloft are good, but the side effects can be nasty. (i.e.: Diarrhea, upset stomach, restless nights, and sometimes severe outburts of anger.) The medication is different with every person, so I suggest that you talk with the doctor about whats right for you. If you are already taking a medication such as those for Bipolar, then you might want to consider also what medication my conflict with what you are already taking. See a doctor immediately before things get out of control and you lose it.

As has been said none of us are qualified to really tell you what it is.. however that said it sounds very like some sort of schizophrenic symptoms.
The big difference between OCD and schizophrenia is that in OCD the thoughts are recognised as their own, in schizophrenia, it is often as if the thoughts are being injected into you.. Hope that helps you figure that out.
Also the out of body experience - dissociation type feeling sounds more like schziophrenia.
But our answers can only be used as preliminary guides.. You need to see your doctor - preferably and psychiatrist or psychologist for this ASAP.
Good luck!

Nobody on this board is qualified to help you, I think you need to keep taking your drugs and talk to a professional, just in case there may be something seriously wrong with you. If you want my unqualified opinion, I don't think it is wierd to feel outside yourself sometimes, especially if you are putting on an act to seem more normal than you really are. It is possible that finding a way to express yourself will help you relieve some energy (music or dance is usually good for this) and I suggest jogging or something that will tire you out and remove some of your bad energy.

I am bi-polar, OCD and have anxiety and depression. .These guys know what they are talking about. You need other meds. I also agree with the other diagnosis or schizophrenia...my boyfriend has that, hearing voices and all...and your symptoms sound that way, too....Are you by any change, taking drugs???? That could cause a lot of your symptoms. He is also chronic paronoid schizophrenic and he doesn't do drugs or anything...he is just sick...He is on anti-psychotics, anti-anxiety pills, and sleeping pills. Good luck to you, Kitty

You have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Anxiety Disorder. I think you are having Panic attacks also. You must consult a Clinical Psychiatrist immediately.
He may give you one of the SSRIs (eg. Sertralin, Fluoxetine) and a mood stabilizer.
Example of treatment.
1st month - Sertralin 25mg + Alprazolam SR
2nd month - Sertralin 50mg
3rd month - Sertralin 75mg
4th month - Sertralin 100mg
5th month - Sertralin 125mg
6th month - Sertralin 150mg
7th month - Sertralin 175mg
8th month - Sertralin 200mg
If you are not responding to 200mg think about augmenting.

I had those same feelings and experiences after my dad and grandmother passed away in the same week. I got myself on paxil but that is a quick fix I was kept on it too long and I got depressed and suicidal again so I ween myself off them and I am better. It took five years of my life to get myself back.

Check out the medication you are taking, and be sure to see if maybe they are giving you side effects that are contridictory...Drink lots of water, because some meds do have a way of giving you a dry mouth...it sounds to me like it could be the meds you are taking..I am glad they are helping. ..but it just might be that they are causing a bad reaction...just try to see and talk to doctor asap..you might just need them to be adjusted..and Pray on it sweetheart...be sure to tell doctor
