By not pumping...you are reducing the demand...so eventually you will "dry out". It depends though....if you breastfed for years....it can take up to a whole year until you completely stop producing.

If you don't want to stop, why haven't you been nursing or pumping? What has your baby been eating? How far post-partum are you? Aren't you engorged and uncomfortable?
If you had a good supply before, you can hopefully still salvage your supply at this point. You need to start nursing and pumping frequently to bring your supply back in! Remember, it's all about supply and demand! NURSE NURSE NURSE and when you aren't nursing, get some pumping sessions in. If possible, spend 2-3 days doing nothing but nursing, pumping and resting. The information below about relactation should help.

yeah which could be fantastic. :) It shouldn't outcome your grant too a lot. women do not dry up that right now. It took me about 4 days of no pumping to end generating milk and develop into engorged. you could develop into engorged even with the undeniable fact that in case you dont' pump for twenty-four hours. you could continuously run your errands and pump once you get living house and then after Valentine's dinner pump back so that you is surely not in any soreness and nevertheless have pumped slightly extra milk.

justmemimi is right. your breast will produce supply by the demand. This is they way the body knows how much to make even down to the time the baby gets hungry. Start to pump again if you are not going to have the baby around. You can store the milk in the freezer for later.

It will be a little harder to bring your milk supply up but how old is your child? My son was hospitalized for 1 week at 6 months old and he refused to eat and it did take me a while to get my milk supply back up. I didnt realize the hospital would let me use their pump for free
