I suspect it is all about conditioning. When I was young my uncle told me that corned beef was made from horses, Even though now as a grown man I know it is made from best Argentinian beef, I still can't eat corned beef. Unless it is cooked by a Halal recognising Muslim, it will be hard for your friends to relax. Best thing take them for a meal to a halal restaurant.

it depends, like the others said, can you cook? just kidding! :p
the main reason that if you aren't moslem/muslim, it would have meant you would/might have cooked un-halal products(ham, bacon etc) with your utensils. This means that your pots, pans, utensils etc are "unclean" even though you might have gone through the trouble of buying halal food. so unless you have a different set of utensils solely 4 halal food, they might still refuse you..maybe approaching your friends would give you a clearer idea of the reason.. :o)

do you have a dog in your house ?
Do you like pork ?
Are you a christian ?
Do you offer them whiskey ?
Those reasons are not the one , I dont know about muslims much. But correct me if I was wrong.
One of My Muslim friend - do all the above , But another one Not even go close to my Dog.
Its all there knowldge which matters. General Knopwldge and a little bit of science.

I m a muslim too..and my best guess of why did they did that is: They've got brainwashed by all the retarded racial beliefs and sayings of men of religion who are keep feeding hatred to human beings for what they believe as "God wants that" and this kind of stuff..
The second best guess is that your friends are brainless too, and (at least) they don't use their common sense and don't hear what their conscience have to say.
My third best guess is that the food sucks!

hope u have not been adding any type of red/white wine/ sherry to the food. and hope u dont serve beer/drinks to ur freinds. becoz we cant give/attend parties where alcohol is served. nor can we serve someone alcohol.
but inspite of all that they are refusing to have food, then they are being stupid jerks. there are some people just dont know how to keep them selves happy.
i always have had lots of fun at my freind's place be it of any faith. infact we are so close knit inspite of our differences in religion, culture and traditions.

!!! May be the food you serve is Haram and you don't know..... Also you might have dog at home or they think your dog has touched your food!!! Wine, beer, ham, pig's meat are haram. also muslim people do not touch dogs & pigs , and if they do they should wash their bodies. Check these items, and if they don't eat anymore after that, be sure the problem is sth else!
Good Luck!

The answer is straight and simple.
Moslems, or puritan Muslims do not like to be entertained by non-Muslims. They are very scary of the fact that dining at a non-Muslim's will grant them a Visa to HELL in the hereafter.
Also, the fact could be that they disbelieved you. Religious Muslims are very suspicious by nature. They will never compromise when it comes to their religion.
I'd like to humbly suggest you not to invite them anymore. They are not worthy of your esteemed friendship.

don't know why mate. but they obviously didn't refuse politely or you wouldn't be asking this question.
maybe they're being extra careful. the utensils you used to cook the halaal food may be used to cook non-halaal food.
sorry you feel this way. hope your Muslim friends are wiser and more understanding of their hosts next time around. (will there be a next time around??)

Your food maybe halal but not the utensils maybe.
You can use disposable serving dish or utensils and disposables plates fork and spoon.
