doctor of osteopathic medicine, as oppose to MD (an allopathic doctor), which comes from the latin Medicinae Doctor

DO's go to osteopathic medical schools and subscribe to slightly different medical philosophies as opposed to their allopathic MD counterparts

there used to be more of a difference than there is today, although admission requirements are a little easier for DO schools than MD schools

D.O. is a doctor of osteopathy,which means they have studied muscle & joints also.A D.O.can manipulate your body just like a chiropractor.
