I cant but I've seen trained cats at a circus. They were amazing-the lady put out 4 carriers around each side of her for a total of 8 cats, one by one they came out as called and perched on a stand she'd made, when she said a command they ran straight back to their original carriers. They even jumped through hoops.

Cats are independent animals. Good luck trying to train them. The only time my cat acts trained is when she hears a can open then she comes running.

Hi Chrissy...cats can be trained to learn many behaviours or as many people call it tricks.
As a professional animal trainer I train both domestic and exotic cats. I personally have taught my cats to use the toilet, sit, lay down, twirl, high-five, wave, come when called, jump through a hoop and so much more that's it difficult to list everything. There are many house cats that make great animal actors on the Hollywood circuit in movies many of us see. Anyhow, exotic cats I work with require training in order to handle them more safely in order to treat them medically as well as provide them mental stimulation. They are taught to back up against their enclosures so we can draw blood from the tail, give paw to examine their claws, open their mouth for an oral examination or have their teeth cleaned. All of this is done without having to put them to sleep so it's healthier for them.

yes. I trained mine to come to a whistle. Instead of calling her and bothering the neighbors when I got home at midnight, I just whistle for her now. You can train them to do things. But they have to want to, first. Cats are not like dogs. They have different motives. LOL!

If they let you.
I saw a street performer with cats that walked on tightrope-like bars (both on top and hanging underneath), caught tossed balls with their paws, and sat up on platforms like lions.

I'm trying to teach my youngest cat (I only have 2 cats) to fetch rubber bands. I shoot the rubber band & my cat fetches the rubber band & brings it back to me.
