Oh Yeah! Beer has some very standard ingredients (beside the alcohol). All have a grain base, hops and water. Some brands include extra flavor addatives that can vary from coffee to raspberries. There are also a few brewers who use chemicals to preserve, enhance the flavor of or otherwise alter their drafts. Also, a common ingredient (and a definite part of fermentation) is mold. Different manufacturers use different bases for their brews. Some use corn, some rice, some barley, and I've seen a few oats and other assorted grains in the mix. If this is the first time it's ever happened, and you're a faithful brand drinker, you may have developed what is called a food sensitivity to one of the ingredients. If you've recently switched brands, it might be good to compare your old standard to whatever gave you the hives. Take a good look at the ingredients that caused the reaction, and see if there's anything listed that you are known to be allergic to. Either way, it would be good to note the items, and try to narrow down the culprit so you can avoid giving up the brewskies for good! (I'm sensitive to barley, so now I'm a big oatmeal Stout fan!)

You can get the hives from anything that your body is allergic to, even beer.

i would imagine that you could, but only if you are allergic to hops or barely or whatever ingredient is in the beer.

lol. I wouldn't know I don't drink. Depend on what's in it. You should stop drinking so you don't end up all spotty.
