Well, to make a long story short here is what i did: PLEASE HELP! I dyed my blonde hair brown. Then, I realized i made a huge mistake and wanted to go lighter. So, the stylist turned my hair orange. Then I had the blonde put back in with what I thought would be light brown lowlights. They came out orangish!! My hair can't take any more chemicals...Any suggestions to fade the orange color faster without wrecking my hair?

Henna is good but may intensify the orange color. If you have a really good health or natural food store nearby, go there and ask the staff for suggestions.

You might try clarifying shampoos. Also, adding a teaspoon of baking soda to your regular shampoo every few washings might help. Finally, use super good conditioners to protect the hair while you're growing it out.

Good luck!

I've been in your shoes, and the only advice I can give you is if you want to help your hair try this product out.

Joico k-pak shampoo/deep cond.: this is one of the few products that you can use almost daily except the deep cond., and your hair will look lively in a few weeks.

Other products out there that hence and keep a color in your hair is only going to make your brassiness (is that a word lol) worse. When I had the lowlights do this I stayed away from products like Garnier Fruictese because it made my dry damaged hair lighter and red. :( However, I have half asian/white hair....

Those products from Joico can be pricey if you are not used to paying $15-35 dollars per product. Try Ebay to see if you can find someone who is going to sell them near cost. :)

Go to a professional and have her do it. You are now in the category of hair color correction and you need help from a professional. Do not attempt to correct it on your own. You will only be doing a disservice to the stylist by messing up the color control factor.

Try a henna wash. Any beauty supply store should stock henna. Try an ash blonde or similar color. It will mellow out the reds and enrich the blonde. It's natural too!
