I agree with you, I don't see the point of the whole God made us and gave us free will, then looked into the future and saw that we were going to do bad things and ruin ourselves, but let us go on.
If we are truly going to be so bad that he will release the four horsemen and let the Devil have his way with us, why let us go on in the first place, why not wipe the slate clean and start over?
I have no answer for this one and I truly don't think anyone has, we all just have to wait for the Apocalypse and find out what he has to say then.
I also think that when we get to heaven, God should have to answer why he gave us the hard times that he did, why some had it harder then others and why all the bad things that happened to us had to happen. The same way we are expected to answer for our sins. If we must be held accountable, then why not him as well?

First off you assume that God is exactly as described in the bible.
Then you assume the apocalypse is literally true.
I think God's making a wholly (excusing the Pun)different point than most of humanity realizes or perceives.
The question you asked which is most relevant and pertinent no matter how you perceive God is "what's the point of it all?"
The answer to that question is in my Humble opinion...
Humans are incapable of knowing everything and only those who have faith that some higher form of being does know "everything".
you must have faith only in the idea that God knows and all humans can't possibly know. Then add to that the idea that some people will shout loudly that they know God's plan - and think for a moment - the more loudly a human proclaims to know God's plan, the less Faith he has in God and the less that person knows about God's plans.
If you can have faith in something greater than humans, then you can immediately put all the writings of mankind into a better perspective. We're all nothing in the sight of God and all we need to do is have Faith - if we wake up tomorrow then we can safely assume that was God's will, no matter what kind of day lies in store for us, good bad or ugly - there is a purpose to it, and we're incapable of actually knowing our part in that purpose.
That's ok isn't it? I'm ok with it, anyway. Good luck. Keep the Faith

The Book of Revelation is not to be taken literally. It is mostly written in a code that was known at the time of the Diocletian persecutions and can no longer be interpreted with any accuracy. The main thrust of the entire book is hope. Christians at the time of it's writing were being burned at the stake, boiled in oil, fed to lions and all manner of torture and death. The message of the Book of Revelation is that Jesus Christ will be the ultimate victor. They understood it's message and many Christians went to their death knowing that they would be rewarded in the afterlife.

OK basically u r being tested on earth, (good and bad and how we control ourselves) if ur good u will go to heaven at the second coming of Christ, if u r bad u will have to stay here and be tortured. now u can get the mark of the devil 666 and have it a lot easier here on earth but be doomed to hell for eternity, if u dont get the mark and try to be good and prove to god that u r worthy u will go to heaven,, in conclusion this is all basically a test and u will have to pay the price for Ur sins,, that's the point-- its punishment............. hope Ur understand better
ps. yes he did give us free will and saw a lot of bad things happening in the future BUT he also gave us a conscience, which will help guide u on Ur decisions here on earth,, remember things can be forgiven, u must Control!------

We can't really understand what God has planned, its like explaining Einsteins Theory of Relativity to a baby.
In the end times, Christians will be first raised to Heaven, then Abraham and Moses will come to give the non-believers another chance to repent. I can't remember when Jesus comes again whether or not the non-believers will get yet another chance.
At times it is a battle between good and evil and God wants those who have chosen him rather than the anti-christ. I suppose that would be more meaning than just creating us as robots.
But be rest assured that God each one of us and he just wants us to acknowledge him.

He will not destroy you unless your are still a sinner when he comes back in his glory . The curses describle in the book of revelation is reserve to unbeleivers and devil's servants. Be strong and just beleive everything will be fine . That is the GOD's point .

If you are a Christian and believe Jesus died for your sins, then you will be called up before the Antichrist comes. Those left behind have to be martyred because then they'll believe, I hope. God created man first without sin because He wanted to show the angels that someone could freely love Him not be forced.

For the same reason people were given time and chances in NOAH's day. Questioning things are important. You must know why you believe in something. But not all the answers come at the same time. Don't let one question stop you from moving forward.

You have a good question - maybe you are interrupting Revelations incorrectly - because why (like you said) would all that happen - it means God failed the first time He came here - anyone who thinks God failed - they need to look at the Bible again - my site explains the end of time.

God's purpose is to develop character in us (to make us creatures fit for eternity with him).
All of the trials and tribulations that humans face are opportunities for us to develop character (either as we experience the trials, or as we help others who are experiencing the trials).
Cordially,
John
