If the ring is THAT important that it can get in the way of an awesome honeymoon, finances applied, then the marriage should be re-considered, because YOU both know how much you love each other, what is wrong with skimping 1,000 or 2,000 off the ring cost and have a honeymoon to blow your minds forever, AND the honeymoon photo album can be on display forever, just like a smaller ring, which can be up-sizedm the gem, as wedding anniversaries go by!

The engagement ring. The honeymoon is to enjoy and celebrate your marriage without interruptions before you go back into the real world. You can do this anywhere without spending a bundle. The ring last forever. The honeymoon does not!

The honeymoon is much more important!!! I personally prefer to have a very small wedding, perfectly normal engagment ring and not so much trouble organizing the whole event. Travelling with my honey is much more interesting and fun, than making a show for the friends and relatives. But in this matter, better ask your bride, bacause if she thinks the other way round she may be quite hurt. I am happy, beause my husband is on the same opinion as me, and now we can afford an exciting and exotic honeymoon ;)

Engagement ring!! You will wear that for the rest of you life and I would want something good to look at. You will always have a chance to go on a second honeymoon!

engagement or honeymoon? What happened to the marriage in between? If these are my only two choices, I'd have to say honeymoon. Over time, most people upgrade their rings on anniversaries anyway. Ya can't really upgrad on a honeymoon....it already came and went.

I have no idea how much was spent on either one. The ring is forever adn the honeymoon is only for a little while though. Why not get a nice ring adn tehn if you have to wait, then wait a whiel and save up for a honeymoon.

I personally would prefer more spent on the ring, I will have that forever (even if the marriage falls apart) You can have fun anywhere, and your honeymoon is more about "gettin it on" so I wouldn't care where I was as long as I was with the man I love. Oh AND had a BIG ROCK! LOL

Engagement ring. Even though you will both remember your honeymoon forever and have nice memories, however you will not take a physical symbol of your marriage with you everyday. Everytime she/he looks at their ring they will remember how special that day was. A special time deserves a special ring.

Honeymoon, its the memory of it that would stay when the going gets rough during the marriage, and not how big the ring is!
You can change the ring, but not the memory!
