IT CAN HAPPEN! A person who grows up in that type of household has two roads they can take...the first being....Learning from it, and NOT doing what they saw all their life. seeing what they went thru, how scary it was, and how dangerous it was, and just what a waste it was. they can see all that and learn what NOT to do. they can take what they saw all their life, and do the opposite, see the things that will happen if you take that road. that is the smartest way, but maybe not the easiest. the second way is to see what happened all their life, and do the exact same thing...see how to do it, where to get it, and how to escape from reality. and use the fact that they grew up seeing it, as an excuse to do it. you can go either way, but thats your decision. sometimes learning from it in the first place is a good thing, because you wont have to go thru it for yourself, and you can know without ever doing it yourself. and you have kinda a head start, because you have already seen what will happen if you do it. so hopefully, this helps, and believe me, it can happen because ive seen it happen. good luck, and believe me, you're not alone.

A lot Depends on their age. It's a lot easier to teach someone young when they are more open to ideas.
If the parents are dope fiends it's not likely they are giving a lot of advice.
But, I've known children of preachers who have become prostitutes, and children of the worst parents who have become preachers.
Anything is possible.

By " saved " what do you mean ? He or she has their own mind, and should make decisions on their own, plus school counselors can help. And if they are religious, they can get counseled there.
Everyone can choose their own life path. Look at how many rich people have screwed up kids, so it has nothing to do with money. The odds for any individual to "BE SAVED" all depends on their own MOXEYand how much do they really want to make a successful and rewarding life for themselves and their family. Parents make their decisions, and should be there to help their kids, and if they aren't able to, it all comes down to YOU. Good luck to you, and I hope your parents will grow up soon.

EVERYONE CAN BE SAVED,,,
sometimes it's easier for a person "born in the hood" to receive God's word than for a priest's child... true Christians pray for the souls that don't know about God's love and God is listening to their prayers!; for that PRAYER it's important, very important!

I know some people who are saved and from the hood. It can happen. God's grace reaches out to people where they are at regardless of their past experiences and what they have done.

Anyone can be born again.
As long as there's still a heart beat.. anyone can have that change of heart.
It doesn't matter where they live or where they were from.
God's love is for every and any person who will accept it.

A simple fact that all religious deny is that they tend to believe whatever their parents do.
This is true nearly 90% of the time, it cannot be denied.
Yet people still cling to their mythology. Sad.

well, you can look at it two ways.
he can follow his parents
or he can go his own way, while it may be harder, the odds are very good if he goes his own way and isn't pressured to follow in his parents' footprints
