Thought provoking. People have suspected for over 2000 years, to be honest, but basing the belief in the DaVinci Code is a bad idea.

Personally, I don't believe it, but it's a nice thought that Christ actually had a woman in his life. After all, it never said in the Bible that Christ was a virgin. He sinned too, because he was human, and that's what humans do. Thus it is entirely possible for him to have had sex, but with who? The speculation could continue for forever. Mary is just the natural choice because she is mentioned and unmarried.

My what a hornets nest you have stirred up with this question.
If you have READ the bible about Jesus while he was still in physical human form. you will notice that he was quite a party goer and most likely drank as much as the rest of the quests at those parties. And why not when he turned water into wine. Their is nothing in the bible that says that Jesus kept himself PURE the way that is meant by the other answers. That is a Christian fable not based in the facts written of his life on Earth.
So their is no reason why HE could not Have married Mary Magdalene. He was also a RABBI and could have preformed the ceremony of marriage himself.

That it is just another lie told by this Movie. I can prove this. The Bible would have told us in the first place and also when Jesus was on the cross, his Mother, John, and Mary Magdalene were there. Why did he not mention anything to Mary Magdalene? Why did he not tell John to take care of his wife also? It was because Jesus was NOT married to Mary!

Well you have seen how Salman Rushdie shot to fame by insanely attacking Islam and the Prophet.
So now Dan Brown followed the suit by attacking the very base of Christanity and is extremely successful in money making.
The simple rule is - right some rubbish against the core beliefs of the popluation and get instantly famous .
It is very very easy of hurt Islam ( specially after 9/11 ).

nothing much . Dan brown is a genius in making so much money .the only controversy is the untruths that are said to be facts. Truthfully the book was written for ignorant people who know nothing of religion or philosophy or history and the only pleasure for rest of us is seeing the art in which he uses to mislead his readers. The point regarding Jesus marrying isn't very grave, it is only more than possible that there have been several people in the past that have had different views to those accepted by Christians. there have been several so called heresies

If Jesus would have married Mary Magdalene. Then He couldn't have died on the Cross for our sins. He kept Himself pure, so that He could save us all. Not once did He sin. He loved sinners, but hated sin. That is why Mary was a Virgin, and the Holy Spirit was the one who impregnated her. Humans are sinful.

The DA Vinci code does not imply that. The Divinci code is not real it is makebelieve. Also Jesus was never married to Mary Magdalene.

Some people have maintained that throughout history.
Some believe she was simply his most devoted follower.
If you get a change try to see the histry channel special on it the next time it is on.

My Uncle said that to me in 1960. He was a biblical scholar who spent most of his time with other biblical scholars.

Does it really matter? What he said, what he did and what he said his followers should do would be what really matters.

It is based on Gnosticism which was an early church fraud that taught a different Gospel. It is based on misunderstandings of incomplete Gnostic "gospels" that have no credibility to begin with. Just another way for people to make money off the other people that deny that Jesus was the Son of God.....

Fiction. Research its claims, many things are truth. But he misportrays Christianity from the roman church, which is filled with tradition rather then Biblical authority.

Interestingly enough, when it came out, the Bible still sold more that year.
