Because they want to stay away from the one they are angry with, so throwing stuff is the natural thing to do.

I've never seen any women fight like that - I know I haven't. I threw a sponge once in frustration - but it was frustration with a broken ice-cream maker, not my husband or another person. I didn't throw it at the ice-cream maker either...
Don't base your ideas on movies or TV. Most the things you see on there are meant to entertain and have very little or no basis in real life!

TV programs show this because its what women do when they fight, They feel they can throw things because men arent suppose to hit women, so they provoke men by throwing things at them in hope they will throw a punch and then the woman can use it against the man for the rest of his friggin life. Each time they argue she will bring it up "you hit me that one time" blah blah blah. nag nag nag.

lol women are an emotional ball of torment usually to proud to bring problems to the surface and also very defensive
but never ask 50 times if there is a problem just listen and wait for a suggestion of a problem and then ask how it may be solved shell more than likely say "i dont know " then ramble on about how blah blah blah you never listen and how she cant talk to you
but stop her in her tracks and say babe im always listening and alwasy waiting for you to tell me your fustrations it hurtsme to see you aggrivated or upset and i try and make up for it in other ways (name some good deeds done) and say i wont know unless you tell me and i wont press you to tell i wait for when you are ready then shell say well i want you to ask me or why dont you or something along the lines of that and just say well there is another way we can do something like take an evening walk or go to dinner and then see whats going on in each others lives then spend 5 mins just looking at each other
and simple as that things get better its structure a lack of structure causes insecurities and makes women react in that manner

Yes I've seen a woman do this, she chucked a salad roll in a fit of anger, luckily not at me but at the man who sold it to her at a cafe'. The thing is she had the nerve to then complain when the man became verbally aggressive and threatening. I'm not saying that all women do this but a hell of a lot do and usually without thinking of what might happen afterwords.

This is a funny answer but a true one at that.. Why we do this is coz WE CAN REMEMBER WHAT IT IS YOU DO OR HAVE DONE WRONG.. LOL! If a man could function like this he to would also fight and argue with the same stragity, but unfortunatly the memory banks of a man does not work like this. Besides we have a tendct to hold grudges longer but only since we remember them.. :)

Because there just aren't words to express rage, sometimes... I never thow things at my husband; that is immature and dangerous. Usually, I pick up a pillow or one of my sin's toys and throw it into the sofa. However, such a display of immaturity usually yields a mock display by my hubby, which peeves me even more. So I hold it in and "talk rationally" to his face, then behind his back I stick my tongue out, flip the bird, scream in a pillow, etc...

I've only ever thrown one or two things, and they were small and not thrown at a person. It's a small aggressive retaliation that doesn't hurt anyone.

I've seen men throw big things when angry, and occasionally at other people, so it's certainly not an girls-only trait. Fights are angry events, and people do angry things.

The only thing I can think of is that because we don't fight with our fists, so we let our frustrations out in other ways, kinda like a kid slamming a door.

I dont really think it is true in real life! We dont really throw things and if we do, it is out of sheer frustration. tv has a way of dramatizing everything, exaggerating and out right lying. so dont get taken in! But even men throw things! haven't u noticed?
