Tomato paste is great to bind the tomato sauce and other ingredients together some. If I'm in a hurry I use a pkg. of schilling or lowreys Italian spaghetti sauce mix. If the sauce is too thin add just a smidgen of instant potatoes. Not too much. Your company will think you cooked your sauce all day. You still need to use sausage and/or ground beef and lots of onion and garlic. Oregano and Parmesan.
Serve with Greek salad. Crumble goat cheese, onion, lettuce with vinegar and oil dressing. Season with Greek spices. Garlic bread and dry red wine and you will have a meal fit for a King.

I think corn flour might help. Stir a bit of corn flour with some water and put them into your spaghetti sauce. Stir and cook...you'll notice your sauce become thicken after a few minutes.

Yes tomato paste is one way to thicken your sauce but its best to start your sauce with the paste. Being Italian, I make my sauce from pasteand will give you the recipe and my secret ingredient to actually thicken the sauce is to sprinkle your cheese topping in it.
1 c tomato paste
2 cloves of garlic
salt
pepper
2 tbs sweet basil
sugar
grated cheese
olive oil
In large sauce pan put 2 tbs of oil and slice in garlic and lightly brown. Add tomato paste to pan and use about 2-3 cans of water and stir until paste has dissolved. Add basil, salt, and pepper. Now the sugar part is tricky, I sweeten it to taste, a real sweet sauce is more a sicilian type of sauce, so put in sugar until it tastes sweet enough for you. Sprinkle in about 1/4 cup of grated cheese and let sauve simmer for about 40 mins. This will give you a taste thick sauce.

corn starch or more tomato ketchup....make sure you boil the sauce till it thickens. Adding minced meat is another option if you are meat lover.

evaporation, that is, simmering until thicker or adding a little tomato paste, although not too much because it will alter the true tomato flavor and make it taste more like concentrated tomato paste
