Just to establish living standard of these two places, can you say how much gas can one local dollar can buy?

I`ve lived in both the US and Australia. The Aussies get my vote. I did`nt want to leave. Where as the US has it`s good points, Australia is by far a more interesting country.The people are great also, the way of life is just that little bit more satisfying. Australia`s geographical location also provides a great hub in which you can visit some interesting countries without it costing you an arm and a leg. Go, you won`t regret it.

petrol $1.26 a liter in Brisbane Au today but a bloody good place to live

Living standard is similar,petrol is 90cents per litre in the usa and 1.25 in oz. both are huge continents. where in both do you want to live? what is important to you ? where are you coming from? what do you like to do?

its 1.30 a litre here..... but man, Australia is awesome! Were very mulitcultural.

USA $3.00 a gallon on average, depending, on the war's we're in, hurricanes, burning bushes, stock market, mideast whims, you name it. It'll be $4.00 soon, and is, in some cases. If you're a muslim, would you please stay away, we have our quota.
