i just posted a question on how do you love someone yet judge what is right and wrong in their lives and it still came out with a lot of people thinking that it is ok to do this. saying something is right or wrong is judging there is just no way around that. some say it is to offer guidance and help for others (like children), but i am not a child under someone else's authority and i am not asking for help or guidance. this happens just because i am doing something that doesn't fit the rules that they live by. they say that this is wrong and i should be doing this instead because the bible says so... and such and such. it feels really disrespectful to me and i just lost a friend because i came right out and told her that i didn't like it and i just need to be respected for my individuality. i'm still not getting it. if it is ok to judge someone in this way, what is the rule judge not lest ye be judged all about then? (please don't use the word to define itself)

This is not love, this is selfishness. You can't judge someone you love because perfect love should be Christlike. How could you judge someone if you loved like Him? Instead of feeling this way try to ease out of these emotions by serving others instead of focusing on what people think, maybe it would take your mind off of it and you would feel better to forget about it? Trust in the Lord He really does know what is best for you. God bless, my friend.

Now, for you and anyone else that "thinks" you can't be judged. I have a couple verses that just happens to suggest otherwise. Now, you read it, you study it, and then after you understand it, we can go deeper if you like. A Christian is SUPPOSED to judge others. 1Thess. He is not to be guilty of what he judges others by.

There is a difference between judging & knowing right from wrong.Jesus said to not be partakers of sin.To turn away from those who are doing wrong & have no association with them until they repent.
Unfortunately, when we know something is wrong & we turn away from a person or let a person know they are doing wrong in order for them to see it & repent, today's society automatically befcomes defensive & accuses us of judging ppl!
It is a self preservation reflex, because they do not want to admit they are wrong.
I judge no one & i do not think i am better than anyone else, but Jesus cammanded me to tell the truth in love to those who are sinning. If no one tells them, then they continue thinking what they are doing or how they are living is ok.
Hence the outbreak of homosexuality & immoral conduct rampant on earth now.

The quote " Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself" basically translates into; if you judge someone, someone else will judge you. It was suppose to be a way to keep nosy people out of other peoples business. But the true definition is; " Only God has the right to judge others, for He is the Creator and His will be done."

If someone is doing something that the Bible points out directly to be wrong, it is NOT being judgemental toi tell them so.
example.....Adultury

If someone is doing something not particularly mentioned in the Bibkle that you percieve to be wrong, them telling them ( in a way that they are going to hell, etc. ) would be judging.
example Smoking ( the Bible doesn't mention smoking, however it does mention doing nothing to harm the body as it is considered a temple.)

These are my opinions, I'm sure many others will have differing ones.

The "judge not lest you be judged" philosophy is inane. In most cases, it is stated in the process of judging someone. It is inherently hypocritical because anyone who feels compelled to tell it to someone else actually violates it in doing so.

The philosophy is also wrong and dangerously so. In a society that "judges not," criminals are free to do as they please. Crime runs rampant. Anarchy reins.

The only way to maintain civil order in society is through laws that are enforced. That means people have to be judged based on their actions. Anyone who disagrees with that is dangerously naive.

How? By not following the Bible.

Judging or applying one's interpretation of God's judgment? Many people feel they are simply telling you what God would (or has in the Bible) say (said) regarding a particular issue. It is not they who judge, but whoever wrote the passage they are referencing.

However, that's all crap. They are judging you, plain and simple.

The actual quote is about not judging someone as bad and then doing the same thing. It was a king who sat in judgement of a farmer or serf and found him guilty but was doing the same crime on a larger scale.

we don't have to judge each other.
we can advise each other but trying not to hurt!
it's important to help your neighbour, maybe he/she doesn't realize that what he/she's doing it's wrong.
we have to help each other loving each other...the world could be a wonderful place full of human beings that were able to love all those around...
