I have spoken to many Mormons, many missionaries as well. I have studied there teaching. I even traveled to the heart of it in Salt Lake City Utah. Here are 2 things to think about:

-there is no archaeological evidence anywhere in America to back up any of the events in the bom. In contrast the biblical archaeology is phenomenal.

-a study was done on the Indians in America. Since the Mormons say that the Indians are really Jews a test was given on the dna of Indians across America and no Jewish dna was found only Asian. Mormons can not answer to this, only blind faith. Christians however have evidence since the bible is 27% prophecy and most has already been fulfilled except the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Dont let them fool you they are trained in schools to come off as Christians, and are doing a good job at it. The Mormons actually have some crazy teaching that they will become a god and have their own planet. CARM.ORG!

The Book of Mormon tells of two ancient civilizations that lived on the American continent and their teachings and dealings with God. The Bible tells of an ancient civilization in the Middle East and their teachings and dealings with God. That is the difference. The principles and doctrines contained within are the same. The Book of Mormon gives a little different view because it continues from BC to AD with no breaks as does the Bible at the end of Malachi. There are many parts in the Book of Mormon that are word for word as the Bible, because if God said it to one people, he would say it to another.

Basically the "storylines" are different, but the principles are the same.

it is as complimentary to the Bible as Moby Dick is complimentary to the Bible. it is yet another e book, curiously the comparable because it while it is sitting on a table. I surely have a perplexing time respecting the Mormon doctrine because of the fact I surely have surely study it, as adversarial to being raised interior the Mormon church and having it shoved into my suggestions very comparable to a suppository is shoved into the anus. The e book of Mormon is a clever gizmo to greater useful comprehend the heretical ideals that have been held by utilising many early Christian communities (the 1st by 4th century). I do exactly no longer comprehend how Mormons can declare to be a monotheistic faith while their literature is something yet. i assume it is like attempting to place a around peg right into a sq. hollow. The Mormon faith in simple terms would not greater healthful interior the Christian faith. I do whether ought to offer props to Joseph Smith to being the main important con artist who has ever lived. My father grow to be very destructive in the direction of me saying that Mormonism did no longer originate interior the nineteenth century yet surely closer to the 1st century. it is, whether, a certainty. Ok, when we say it is a companion... we mean that it is meant to be read WITH the bible.. not instead of. We read both. The Book of Mormon is simply a historical document. It contains the records of ancient Indians who lived in the Americas thousands of years before Columbus landed here. After Christ was resurrected, He visited this people and taught them of the Church of Jesus Christ... the practices and beliefs that our faith is based on.

Actually, I thought the Book of Mormon was exactly like the
Bible. I didn't care for the Pearl of Great Price though. I have
no problem accepting that Hebrews came to America before
Columbus. Many peoples did.
As far as the Mormon faith, it has probably been destorted through time by mans wisdom just all the rest of the faiths.
Their statement of faith says they expect to learn many new revelations. I wonder?

The Mormon "bible" and entire religion is a cover-up! It uses Jesus' name to lure in people who don't know about mormonism; this religion depends on the fact that everyone has heard of Jesus Christ, and because of this, they use his name to get the people to join. Like, when the missionaries ride on their bicycles, they totally leave out the teachings of Joseph Smith, who is the founder of mormonism but wear out Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...

I've studied this religion a little along with Islam, Judaism, Scientology, and some Neo-Cult Religions...and let me tell you, that mormonism is the most deceiving of them all...not only in the mormon bible does it say that Jesus was a failure, but also, that blacks, indians, and any other brown nationality are not worthy enough to go to heaven...in the BIBLE, everyone is able to go to heaven regardless of sex, creed, and color...God...the true God, does not have "respect of persons" or rather does not have any biasness. Hey one of the first evangelists was a woman, Mary Magdelene (she carried the first gospel message), she was the first one to proclaim the gospel of the resurrection of Christ...do you think in the Mormon religion they would've allowed this? Absolutely not!

Also, mormons practice witchcraft and they actually worship the Devil, in their book, they say that Jesus and the Devil were actually brothers....now what kind of stuff is that? When they said that Jesus failed, who do you think they said prevailed? Exactly, so they worship the Devil (though they call him another name).

Another difference between the book of Mormonism and the Bible is that, not once in the book of mormonism did Joseph Smith make an ultimate sacrifice... in the bible Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice of dying on the cross for our sins...not once in the religion of mormonism or any other religion was such a sacrifice made for people who didn't deserve such.

Anyway, I can go on and on about the many differences.

Interesting. Even before I began studying the bible, someone handed me a Book of Mormon once upon a time. I opened it, read about two paragraphs (it is worded in the same sort of language and style as the King James bible), put it down and said "this isn't from God".

Many, many years later, after studying the bible, I came across this verse...Jesus said "my sheep know my voice...they will not follow the voice of a stranger". That is exactly what I had "heard" when I was reading the Book of Mormon. It was a "stranger's" voice.

The book of mormon is a poor attempt to plagerize and fill in the things in the bible that God has not seen fit to reveal to us.

Well for one thing it does not teach that Jesus is God. They use some of the same terminology we use, but it has different meanings than we have in mind. So quite frequently in a discussion with them you can say that you believe a certain thing, and they will say they completely agree with you. Even though they believe a completely different thing than you. Also they teach Jesus went to America based off the passage that Jesus has other sheep, they take a passage clearly about the Gentiles and stretch it to something else. They've taught that white Jews came to America and that the ones who didn't believe were cursed and there skin was no longer white. There's a lot more than that and even some very different ideas on higher theological issues. But just the fact that Jesus was a created being and not of the same essence as God is completely in direct contradiction to the scriptures.

The book of mormon is simply a boring story about fictional people who kept fighting eachother. Nothing of value, except Christians might find the prophets who copy word for word what the prophets in the bible have said valuable.

The Book of Mormon supposedly chronicles Jesus' travels through North America preaching to the Indians. He must not have made much of an impression on them as no one ever reported coming across a Chrisitan Indian tribe.
It also talks about stone castles in North America. Those all seem to have vanished as well.
