Hi there...Cats/kittens can practically nap multiple times day -- an average total of 16 - 20 hours day. Their sleep patterns have evolved because of their ancestor's success as predators. Their bodies are designed for short bursts of energy needed for high-performance play or traveling short distances. This makes them efficient to stalk and kill prey giving them time to spare. Most cats sleep lightly (catnap) so that their brains remain on high alert for any danger.

Kittens are like babies and young children. They eat, they sleep. They run, run, run, play, play, play and then they crash for a good nap. Then the cycle starts all over again.
If your kitten is not like this it may be very ill and you must check it out with the vet.
