My wife and I did the Nutrisystems diet about a year ago. Here's my voluminous opinion about it.

Nutrisystems is a diet based on the glycemic index, which is very good at help controlling your appetite and keeping your blood sugar from bouncing around. Go to their site, they'll tell you all about it.

The basic plan is that they ship you a months worth of prepared entres, snacks and desserts. Then every month after that, they'll automatically ship you (and bill you) for another months worth of food, unless you tell them to delay it or cancel. Cancelling was no problem when we did it.

The price was reasonable and comparable to buying Lean Cuisines or other prepackaged meals at the grocery story. Note, the Nutrisystems meals do not need to be frozen or refrigerated. You can just pull them out of the box and heat them up in the microwave for the most part.

The plan give you 3 meals, 1 snack and 1 dessert every day. If you are a guy, I think you get a second snack. You are expected to supplement your entres with other food that takes little or no time to prepare, so you are eating a balanced diet. This is important. If you don't add salads, fruit, veggies, milk, yogurt, breads, etc. you won't get enough calories and bulk, you'll be hungry all the time, and you'll fail.

The byproduct of this plan is that you really start to learn how to eat healthy. You get comfortable having small entres, accompanied by large quantities of veggies or salad or other healthy foods, which is a great way to eat normally.

Now for the bad part, and bad it is. Most of the food tastes terrible. At least it did for me and the wife. After 2 months, neither of us could do it any more, even though we were having great success with weight loss. I'd say 1/2 of the entres and almost all the desserts had protein powder (or something that tastes like it) added to them. It really made the food less than desirable. Here you are looking forward to a nice brownie or shake for the dessert, and it tastes like protein powder. Ugh!

I'm not sure what their deal is now, but if at all possible, try and get your hands on a few of the entres and desserts first. Try them. If you like them, then I heartily recommend Nutrisystems. If you don't like them, don't do it, because you'll just get sick of it and quit.

If you don't know anyone that has any of the food, maybe try and look on ebay, and see if anyone's selling some leftover food.

Exercise or no exercise you won't be able to lose the weight if you don't cut your food intake but we all know that's pretty hard, right? A good appetite suppressant can help you out big time but it has to be natural or you can get into serious heath problems.

I lost 38 lbs in 2 months by using garcinia cambogia extract (FDA approved 100% natural). In my first month 26 and then 12 the second month. I was an emotional eater and these supplements changed my life. They act like an appetite suppressant so I didn't feel like eating anymore. Not hungry anymore -> Lower calories -> Lose weight, simple as that. I did no exercises just 20 minutes walks 5 days a week.

It's been 4 months since I lost the weight and I did not gain any pounds back, actually I lost another 5 lbs (I stop taking them after I lost the weight). If you want to take a look here is a website where you can find discounts: http://www.garciniapromo.com I got them 30% off from here. Hope this helps!

Yes it works I've lost almost 50 pounds in 7 months. The food is not as flavorful as regular food since it is low in fat, salt and sugar. There is little meat and bread in the diet. And after the first three months, the price dropped to $240 for 28 days worth of food, about $8.50 a day.

You can substitute regular food items of equal colorie amounts and the Nutrisystems food at times if you get tired of the Nutrisystems food. I buy Lean Cusine and Weigh Watcher frozen dinners at the supermarket once in a while. I dine out once in a while limt the size and calories of what I eat to stay within the diet.

I should reach my target weight after 15 months.

It won't work if you look for excuses to give up and blame the taste food, the calorie limits, the cost etc.

It only works if you are determined and stay on it for the long haul. You didn't put the weight on overnight, it won't come off overnight. There is no quick fix. You have to make a full commitment to staying on the diet and limiting your calorie intake.

You have learn to change what you eat and how much eat. No more cheeseburgers, fries, cheesestakes, hoagies, wraps, fries, ice cream, sugar drinks, etc, until you've reached your target weight. And no more large portions. Only small portions multiple times a day. It takes self discipline. If you have none you will fail.

The average weight loss is 6 pounds per month on the Nutrisystems diet.

The only thing stopping you from losing weight is YOURSELF!

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

I do not know this from personal experience but from my research I have found: Its actually a fairly balanced plan- and good for people who don't cook. Adding a few fresh fruits and veggies make it very balanced. I am actually trying to get my brother to try it. Thats why I'm doing the research. Losing 4 pounds in a month is not bad. The focus on a healthy weight loss plan is 1-2 pounds per week. You really should, for your health, change your lifestyle and get to a healthy weight and stay there. I LOVE to cook. Try taking a cooking class and making your own fast food. I work long hours- so Sundays I cook, usually enough for the entire week. I make my own meals and snacks. I even eat burgers. I am a low normal weight

I've been considering this program, but like you, I'd like to hear about some results...not just those on the NutriSystem website. I've signed up, but haven't spoken to a counselor yet
