You cant rid yourself of guilt .. it is there for a reason.

What you can do is be strong enough to walk away from the cause of the guilt .. be proud of the courage to do that and the guilt will lessen in terms of pain in time .. it will be good to keep it as it will hopefully prevent you from finding yourself in the same situation again.

If you have a partner, don't offload your guilt by telling them - that will only make things worse - unless you intend leaving. Guilt is meant to be an alarm bell to tell us that we're going against our values. When it rings, we're supposed to shape up and do the right thing ( stop the activity), not tape the alarm bell to our ear and listen to it for the rest of our lives, so that it stops us moving on and growing. The best antidote for guilt is get back in line with your own beliefs about right and wrong, take personal responsibility and move on.

To rid yourself of any kind of guilt you must assume the responsibility for your actions. That means we all have to fess up and be responsible for everything we do while we are here from stepping on an ant to killing another human being and every thing in between

There's not a lot you can do to get rid of the guilt; walk away from this situation though unless you want it to get a whole lot worse.

You did'ent say if you are single, but if you are, it's him that should feel the guilt he's the one thats married not you.But most married men never leave their wives,so dont't bank on it, even if he say's he will.So stop feeling guilty it's his problem not your's,if it was'ent you he would cheat with someone else anyway.Just make sure you don't get hurt.t.c.

Stop the relationship. I had an affair and left my wife for her, we had a couple of good years together then she dumped me. what a waste, a lot of people got hurt both financially and emotionally for nothing.
