Some Yahoo Q&A people have said that Adam was decieved by Eve, therefore he was not responsible (or at least completely responsible) for his sin. Well, who do you think deceived Eve? Satan did. So according to this logic both would not be responsible because both were actually "decieved" by someone else, therefore, according to this logic, neither would have been responsible for their sin. If that were the case, there would have been no need for them to be punished. If you read the Genesis account it says how when God had asked them what they had done, Adam's excuse was that Eve persuaded him, in turn, Eve's excuse was that "the serpent" persuaded her. They both were trying to blame someone else. Some (not all) have said that Eve was more (or totally) at fault because she persuaded Adam. But Eve was persuaded first by Satan. They both made a choice apparantly. So, those of you who say that Eve was more at fault, Why do you say this? Also, cajun4talk2u I'm waiting.

Philosophy is interesting, but the Scriptures clearly teach that the sin of Adam was far worse than the sin of Eve.
(1 Timothy 2:14) Adam was not deceived, but the woman was thoroughly deceived
(Romans 5:12) Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin
(Isaiah 43:27) Your own father, the first one, has sinned

II Tim. 2:14 says, "And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression." This means that Adam was held fully accountable for his decision, even though he tried to pass the buck by blaming Eve. The other implication here is that you can sin without knowing it and still be held accountable, as Eve was. She was punished too. Case in point: getting a ticket for exceeding the speed limit even though you didn't see the sign. Ignorance is no excuse (I'm guessing because it's usually WILLFUL ignorance - we don't want to know the law because we'd rather do our own thing). That ought to make us all go "hmmm." The serpent/Satan received the greatest condemnation because he was the deceiver.

Christianity has degraded the status of women by saying that it was Eve's fault for persuading Adam.
Islam holds both of them responsible towards the act and does not discriminate either. But they were deceived by Satan. But in Islam they dont blame satan, instead they acknowledge that it was their fault.
Islam is about self-accountability. when you sin, it is true that satan had wisphered evil into you. Yet you were fully aware of the act and knew what was wrong. Therefore blaming the satan is an excuse and a way to prevent ourself from being responsible towards our acts.

If you read the book of Genesis. Adam was with Eve when the Serpent asked her didn't God say that you couldn't eat from the tree. Adam didn't say a thing, he went right along with it. They are both at fault. We as human beings will put the blame on someone else instead of accepting the responsibility ourselves. God gave everyone a will, and we chose to disobey. He didn't make us all robots.

Ever since Adam and Eve made thier own decision to eat
in the garden. Humans have been blaming each other for their own mistakes.
All the blaming of the female in many beliefs, is based on the
fact there are two aspects to the Lifeforce. One which flows
from the Source of Life, and the other that flows back. The one causes separation from the Source. The other reunification.
We understand these as masculine and feminine. But they
are neither. The are neutral. They just exist.
Our spirit is actually made of both these aspects coming together to create life on its many levels. All the rest is just
an EGO trip.
Satan is a paradox. A way out. Someone to blame. But once a
human being gets past that stage and matures. We know we
are all responsible for our own actions.

Well, I think it was probably a non-christian who said Adam wasn't responsible. The Bible talks about it being more Adam's fault that Eve's really, where she was decieved by the Devil and he was decieved by the woman. The Devil is a bit more crafty than a woman. The Bible says that had Adam not taken the fruit, we could be redeemed through man, but he did, so, we have to have a Holy Savior.
By the way, any sin anyone commits is through deception, having told themselves it will be an OK thing to do.

Both Adam and Eve were faced with a choice, and bore responsibility for that choice. Genesis 3:3 suggests that Eve knew that there was a choice to be had there, as suggested by the phrase "lest ye die". She listened to the counter-argument from the serpent, and while she may have been deceived regarding the final ramifications of that decision, she still was fully empowered to exercise her free will. Adam also had to make that choice -- he elected to partake of the fruit as well, exercising his free will as evidenced by verse 12, where he says he "did eat". Note that it does NOT say that his excuse was, "She made me do it!". Both of them stated why they made the choice, but both of them also clearly accepted the consequences of that choice.

The Satan or the Devil didn't tempt Eve. It was a serpent. Read closely, and see! The Satan hadn't yet been invented when Genesis was written. During the Persian Captivity, Hebrew priests were exposed to Zoroaster's religion that had a divine war between good Ahuramazda and evil Ahriman. They copied Ahriman and renamed him. Before this time, God-Yahweh sent both good and evil, e.g. hardening an anonymous pharoah's heart in Exodus. Some Biblical contradictions arise from rewriting parts after the Persian episode, e.g. God inspired David's census in the earliest account, but the Satan did in the later one.

Ah but then you could say that only the heart can decieve a person. Adam wanted to eat the apple that is why he did. Eve did not make him, she may have persuaded him, but she didnt make him! Everyone is accountable for there own actions..
See MAN (males) have been blaming everything on women since the supposid dawn of time! Men are weak and need an excuse to explain why they did something! ;);)

the tale you heard about Lilith isn't contained in the Bible. Eve became the first lady. As for something else of your question, women, like men, have loose will. If a woman is fortunate sufficient to have a husband who can help the kinfolk, she will have a tendency to the living house and childrens. she will have a occupation or an element time interest. loose will is fairly cool. As for men, I have got here across that maximum men at the on the spot are not usually a similar, yet could be really complicated. i have heard that some men favor to be living house with the youngsters, and they are thoroughly satisfied letting their better halves do the salary earning.
