I keep getting ear aches and I don't have an ear infection or
a problem with my teeth. They did x-rays. Is it possible the ear pain is due to the same nerve affecting my headaches? Or do you have any idea what else could be causeing it?

Yes. I have one right now. It is caused by a cluster headache. These start one one side of the head. In my case it is over the left eyebrow. If I don't immediately take a tylenol sinus plus a 500 mg. tylenol I will have it travel up the face over the head and down into my neck as well as down into my face and into my ear all on the left side. I get sick at my stomach and get a metal taste in my mouth.
Several things cause this stress, hormone imbalance and even barometric pressure changes. Here is a website on cluster headaches.

there is an ear wax removal kit found at most drug stores. it can cost about 15$ or more i had puss and blood coming out of my ear for two years. i bought the kit that had a suction-ball, whatever it is called. my ear has long since stopped bleeding and i dont see puss, but i came to being deaf once again because of ear wax if your problem is more serious than you should go to a specialist, i heard they insert tubes and burn the inside of the ear to fix problems. i dont have money to see any doctor, so what happens to me, i have to live with as for biblical answers: James 5: 16 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. when i was first diagnosed with cancer, i took 2 weeks off for a vacation, i went to mexico and while i slept for 3 days, i was visited by someone, or what looked like an angel or someone dressed in white, that person shook my bed and as i woke up i thought i was going to have a repeat heart attack, so i packed up my stuff and left, that day. while on one visit to a freind in the church, i began having pain in my gut that hurt very much, i was near to tears. i received an elders blessing and the pain went away, i think only 2 or 3 times in the last 20 years have experienced brief sharp pains since. im telling you ! it was a miracle and a healing. so, my advice is to call the elders of your church and seek for prayer and blessings. if none can be found keep searching.
