I live in nyc, and I always skip a crowded train,bus,elevator .. anything because ive had grown men caress,grab,cup my bottom and honestly press up against me while i have my back to them. It's ok if its a mistake its crowded and everyone is pressed together. Some guys respect you and make the effort to stand back to back or front to front. But in some instances ive had guys deliberatly go behind me and press on me. once a guy got *over exited and his swell made me feel like the most disgusting person. I yelled at him to back up and his respond was "I can't" because it was crowded and he got of before I could say anything. I spend the whole week feeling dirty or violated and its just not right. and they always get away with it WHY do some guys feel like thats OK!!

I am a native New Yorker also and have been in that situation many times on our wonderful subways. Many years ago I kept the door open for a large crowd of people that were changing from an express train to the crowded local one I was on, and boy, did I regret it. The very well dressed man I let on first - who looked like a business man of about 40 and seemed normal (he thanked me for holding the door no less!)- wound up behind me and started pressing up against me. At first I thought it was an accident because of the train's movement, so I moved away from him as best I could. You know the drill. But when he started humping me deliberately I got angry and shoved back. He pushed harder. Eventually I kicked him very hard in the shins until he got pissed off and hit me back! I screamed and called him a few assorted names very loudly and got off at the next stop. Fortunately he didn't follow me. He was obviously a nut job.
Why do they do this? Who knows, but clearly they have issues about sexuality and get turned on by being in crowded situations. Underneath it all perhaps they are really insecure men who can't meet women and feel more powerful doing this, or maybe they are titillated because they are doing it in secret. Either way they have some serious issues and I find it as disgusting and gross as you and all New York women do.
Be careful, hon. I always tried to make sure I was on the train where the conductor was even if it was further down from where the exit was on the platform. It gives some measure of protection, or it made me feel more protected. I also tended not to put myself by the door or in its center where all the congestion is when people get on or off the train. I moved further into the train where people had to hang onto the upper handrails - and I looked mean as hell, what I call my "NYC Subway Train Attitude Face". I looked no one in the eye, and appeared confident and tough!

I'd like to apologise on behalf of all the other decent guys out there, (yes there are some of us,) Sometimes being pressed together is unavoidable in crowds, but if a guy has any self respect, he will respect you as well and not try to take advantage of the situation. I suspect a lot of these losers are either very lonely or don't have the self confidence to try to meet girls face to face. The cheap thrill they may get would just be fleeting, and they have probably forgotten it long before you can wipe it from your mind. I can't offer any advice about what to do because unfortunately the world is full of this sort of weirdo. It is not your fault and you shouldn't feel ashamed.

Actually...those guys should be arrested...That is sexual battery of a sort...Too bad you don't yell real loud "get away from me with that thing you pervert:"...I hate that and those kinds of people are opportunists..he knew just what he was doing...and he succeeded in making his innocent victim feel like the bad one...keep telling them off and next time look for another man to step in if you have to...creeps...Sorry you are having to put up with that..try to stand by women only sweetie...

Sorry on our behalf. Alot of guys especially from nyc (i know i live there too) are missing a little something called morals and respect. I'm not to sure if id confront them unless your in a very public area or have some sort of weapon on hand like a small knife tucked away somewhere

How PITIFUL is that kind of creature??? How sad they have no meaningful relationship! No one to share life and love with. One thing I used to do - with nasty callers, was to start praying for them OUT LOUD!! "Dear Lord, I Know this poor sinner thinks this is how to get their jollies, So Please, Dear Lord, show them the light of your love and that this is not the way to respect a woman......" etc. they will slink off and NEVER come near you again. The others in the area will probably give you three cheers. Good luck...!!!

I think I would take up walking and avoid that whole scene. But I also live in a rural area so I don't deal with crowded anything!

Carry something heavy in your purse and accidentally bang it into their crotch, then say I'm so sorry but it is to crowded in here. You can also put spikes on your purse or wear a bracelet with spikes (heavy metal kind) and when they get to close scrape them with it. You can also accidentally elbow them in the solaplexus and knock all the air out of their lungs.. They are being rude be rude back, but make sure you have witnesses just in case they get aggressive.

It's a shame that some men never really mature! Makes you wonder how they would feel if someone did that same thing to their daughter, mother, or wife. It's not okay, and it is a shame that you have to be intimidated like that.
