You can develop allergies at any age. My mom became allergic to dogs at around 35 years old and I became lactose intolerant at around 24.
The best thing to do is to go to your doctor and have him do a series of allergy tests. It is where they test for between 12 and 30 allergies at once. Quick and effective.

The first thing I would say it to be VERY CAREFUL with food allergies. If your tongue and/or throat swells too much to be able to breathe well, then you may need to get yourself to an emergency room right away. It this happens, get to your local Medical Center, or E.R., don't worry about it if it is or isn't an allergy! If your throat start to swell, get to a doctor!
Peanuts sound like the most likely culprit to me, however, if you changed brands of bread, it could be the flour or yeast in it,even... Peanut allergies can be very dangerous allergies.
It is true that allergies can come on later in life without any notice. The only way to make sure that you are allergic to peanut butter would be to have a skin test done by an allergist doctor. If it is important enough to you or your health, you can have shots to desensitize your system, but this takes many months to a couple of years, depending on how much and what you need.
Instead of being allergic to peanut butter, you more likely are allergic to the peanuts. You could do a "home-made" type of allergy test, if you think this is a minor allergy, you might want to find out by eating some peanuts on their own. I would only do this if I felt like I wouldn't have to go to the hospital if I ate the peanuts. You could start by eating a couple of tablespoons of the same type of peanut butter that you used on the sandwhiches. I wouldn't try much more... See if you have the same reaction. If you do get the prickly itchy feeling then I would take a BENEDRYL right away. This is an over the counter anti-hystimine. The histimine is what causes you to feel the prickly, itchy feelings.
It is my unerstanding that when your body encounters something it is allergic to, hytemines (so?) rush to the site, this causes the red and puffyness around flea bites/other insect bites. It also causes the rash and itchies on the tongue and/or throat if it was eaten. So, you need to have antihystemines on hand, so you can take them as soon as you reconize you've eaten or gotten into something you are allregic to.
I am NOT a doctor, or nurse oe even in the medical field! So, please don't let your life be in danger over an allergy! Talk to your doctor's nurse. Many times, they won't charge for that type of a consulatant. I can only tell you wan has helped in my life.
I have gone through the years of shots and I also take Benedryl (I actually take Walmart's generic brand "Equate" because where we buy it, the Benedryl is close to $7.00 for 25 of them and the Equate brand is only about $5.00 for 100 of them and it is the exact same active ingredients!)
Hope this helps.

It could be a possible allergy to nuts, or flour, or wheat... both times it was ate with bread, which could also be the culprit. Your bodie does change with age and you can develope new allergies or build ammunity to ones you had when you were younger. The best thing you can do is go to your M.D. and ask to have allergy testing done. Until then I would stay away from peanut butter.

That is possible, and it could be the brand you ate. It could be you are having a reaction to one or more of the ingredients in that brand. Flax Seed Oil, have no idea what that is, but saw it on a jar of peanut butter just the other day. There is also Natural peanut butter, maybe try that. Eat some, not a whole lot, peanuts, if you get a reaction maybe you are. Keep some Benydryl handy.

a couple of ways to test yourself but the final say should come from a doctor. 1)place some PB on the palm of your hand, 2) place some PB on the bottom of your forearm, 3)Put a small amount on the tip of your tongue. The palm one you may not have a reaction but for sure with the 2 and 3 you will. Even if it is a small reation, you should check with the doc just to make sure.

i'd not. I once worked with a infant that had a severe nut allergic reaction and any publicity be it environmental or from mom would have a perilous reaction and it might ensue quickly. Anaphalaxis in toddlers and toddlers is an extremely very serious element, and could not be toyed with. No peanuts! also, peanut hypersensitive reactions have develop into further and extra problem-free- and neither figure desire have the allergic reaction for the newborn to get it.

You probably have are having an allergic reaction. My son now eats cashew butter (local whole foods market) due to peanut reactions. He gets blotchy and his throat gets "itchy". I give him benadryl (?) and it stops very quickly. If you are able to take an allergy med, try it. You may have reactions to trre nuts as well, be careful! The docs tell me I shoul;d inverst in an eppy-pen (a enclosed shot to give him if he has a bad reaction).

Before trying anything else... go see a doctor....
I heard of someone that did not know his allegies, simply DIED from eating a few peanuts...on ice cream... if I remember right...
Don't play... allergies are PURE POISON to most who suffer from this...

Yes, I would have to say that is a good indicator.
Next, try to eat some bagged peanuts and get another idea. If it happens again, stay away.
