Most every one does. People start thinking along these lines in their thirties , generally. When they discover grey hairs , lines on the face , they start thinking about living forever , about youth being slipped away in the present ...dreaming of perpetual youth , because nobody wants to live for ever an old person , without being able to enjoy life. When you say life forever , you mean perpetual youth is also implied , right?

Fer Shure.
I loved the book Lestat by Anne Rice. It have a great insight on what it'd be like and made it a lot of fun. I'd probably be more like the really old vamps tho .. kinda scared of technology and shy of people.
Lot's of thinkers in the late 60's had high hopes (pardon the pun) for a much longer life .... say a span up to 250 in the very near future.
Enthusiasm for understanding aging, disease, dna and all the aging factors have made a lot of people very optomistic of living a much longer life than we do today.
And why not? Why not dream of living forever, of flying to other planets, of telepathy, of transcending our minds and our bodies?
Live long and prosper!

I would not want to live forever. Poverty, Crime, War, that would all still be there. I could not handle an eternity of watching others suffer. And if I lived an eternity not caring about that, what good would I be to the world if I did not help out?

To live physically forever? That would suck, unless you could stop the aging process. And even then, the world would have already been destroyed by famine due to population crises.
To live spiritually forever? Sure, everyone's imagined that. Too bad we don't get to find out until after we die.
Carpe diem!

Depends - live forever in a perpetual state of youth? maybe
Live forever as a decrepit invalid? no.
Either way, that sort of infinity is likely beyond the human ability to comprehend - I think it could eventually lead to insanity.
The human condition is generally understood within the constraints of mortality, who knows what would happen if this defining element were removed.

Hi Pearl,
I do think that we live for ever! The people who crossed over after this life has just finished learning what they needed to know during their time on Earth. Try going to this website and listen to some of the different authors if you really want to hear some good spiritual stuff: www.hayhouse.com.

I would only want to live forever if everyone I loved could live forever, too.

I can't image living forever. I am 174 years old and I'm already bored out of my mind.

not on this earth, but eternity...its really scary to think about how LOPNG eternity is. it makes me dizzy....here is a good example
if there was a large granite mountain, and once a year (yes only once a year) a bird flew past it and brushed it with its feathers, by the time the mountian is worn to the ground, that would ojnmly be a fraction of a second in eternity...a fraction of a second!!! thats scares me...now where do you want to spend it!! okay...that was mean, sorry....
