I have the full McAfee Security Center,, except spam protection. I don't open fishy, or phishy stuff anyway. It has automatic updates, renewal notices, etc. I like it. I've had it for several yrs. now.

Norton and Mcafee are both overpriced resource hogs. Mcafee hardly catches anything so your wasting resources on something that pretends to protect you.
For Antivirus I'd suggest Avast which is free at www.avast.com. If you have a slower computer you could get AVG antivirus from www.grisoft.com. AVG doesn't catch as much as Avast but it's quicker and uses less system resources.
For Antispyware I'd suggest Ad-Aware SE from www.lavasoft.com and Spybot Search and Destroy which you can get at download.com.
FYI, the guy who said buy Symantec but don't buy Norton has no idea what he's talking about. Symantec and Norton are the same thing.

Mac Os X. Linux/Unix.
100% antiviral/malware guarantee.
iff'n y'all hafta use thet thar winders fer sumthin,
windows 2000, symantec antivirus CORPORATE (NOT norton OR mcafee), and ad-aware SE pro(pay-its worth it). use firefox, mozilla, or opera for browser. do NOT use idiot explorer.
and _dont_ run as administrator.
re: person who said no diff between norton and symantec.. there is a big difference. symantec has no mandatory yearly subscription fee, is not nearly as big a resource hog, and has a more adult/non-kiddie ui with more optimization capability. ts the difference between win 2000 and expee home edition. one is geared for people who dont understand the finer details of AV tweaking, and want a kyoote eweser interface that color coordinates with the default luna UI of expee, and the other is for someone who doesnt want the comfortable frendly ui and just wants protection.
symantec is the company who owns Norton AV, but they also produce a product called symantec AV corporate.
but its all a moot point, just get a mac or linux box and be done with it. :D

There are many different opinions about what the best antivirus is. Personally I strongly recommend the free version of Avira Antivirus, you can download it for free here http://bit.ly/1r2fUKt I recommend this software because the latest version is much better then all the others and will give you a full protection of your pc from all virus or spyware.
