All grocery brand foods are junk folks, and that includes Iams!!

Read the lables, just because meat is the first ingredient doesn't always mean that the food is good food, look further down the list. Good foods don't contain by-products or other fillers like corn. Do you know what by-products are? They are ground up beaks, feet, intestines, stomach and other parts of the chicken or other animals that humans DO NOT eat and your pets shouldn't have to eat it either.

Here's Iams compared with Innova, Science Diet and Nutro Natural Choice. http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=comp-wiz-results&animal=Dog&id1=63&id2=1246&id3=54&id4=1277&x=53&y=13

And here you can compare up to 4 different brands of food at a time. http://www.naturapet.com/display.php?d=comp-wiz

the better quality foods are not that more expensive - your dog eats quite a bit less of it. Also dogs fed better foods are healthier and have fewer health problems - which means few trips to the vet.

Sure wild dogs eat all the by products in their kill, but it's not the main part of their diet. Also, I don't know of any dog that would go out into a corn or wheat field and eat that......hehehe

The by-products aren't the only problem with the cheap foods, they are also loaded with artificial preservatives and cheap fillers dogs normally wouldn't eat.

I have always fed quality kibbles to my dogs. I used to feed Iams, before it was reformulated. then I switched to eukenuba, until I learned about the cruelty involved in the research for Iams and eukenuba..(both Proctor and Gamble brands)
2 1/2 years ago, I switched to Canidae..WOW! where has this been all my life!!
My old dogs are acting as pups, their blood work values are that of 4-5 year olds..their teeth never need cleaned..and the youngsters are blossoming as never before....

I feed several large dogs and 1 small dog..I save about 23% per month, by feeding the premium brand, not counting the difference in veterinary care and over-all well being and healthy old age..
They eat less, and waste (poop) less..
Other premium brands which are readiy available are Innova, Wellness, Wysong, and Solid Gold..

I feed my dog two large (raw) bones every morning, then at five pm every evening I give him a serving of "Bucket O' Beef". Bucket O' Beef is delivered to my house every Wednesday in a 5 litre... well... bucket. Each week we get a different flavour to the previous. Flavours available include 3 Meats and Vegetables, Meat Casserole, Chicken.... there are heaps. They're really fresh and the meat and veggies are quite chunky. It's loaded with garlic which is apparently very good for dogs. I'll give him a bowl of that and possibly a sprinkle of cat kibble now and again or drizzle soy milk over it. Max is in perfect health... he's a beautiful dog. Really he's too skinny at the moment because he goes for an hour long run every day (Max is an Australian cattle dog X kelpie... possible dingo in there too) and his calorie content is not high enough for the exercise he's doing. But that will be easily fixed.

The beaks, feet, intestines, stomach and other parts of the chicken or other animals are not really bad for dogs. Dogs are naturally hunters, and if they were fending for themselves, they would eat these things anyway. A dog doesn't need the same diet as a human. It's great to feed your dog the best food you can afford for them. But some things aren't so bad.

maximum canine breeds are particularly properly tailored to the comparable meals you probable already eat. canine meals companies have a tendency to over emphasise the cost of a particular weight loss software, yet might desire to cover themselves by using asserting thier canine meals isn't the only subject a canine might desire to eat. Our canine have consistently gotten uncooked meat scraps, alongside with uncooked bones from the butcher, no specific prepariation mandatory (you think of canine progressed cooking the rodents they capture infested with parasites??). they have consistently been complimented on by using different canine vendors as "how does your canine look so healthy?" and "how does your canine have the style of bright coat?" there's a reason canine and human beings make such solid companions. no longer basically are we bahaviorly properly suited, we are dietarily properly suited. They eat all of the failings we've worry tolerating. we are extra effective tailored to vegetables. Our canine additionally get candy potatoes now and then. Cooked, finished, or in part cooked as a cope with. under no circumstances uncooked, basically because of the fact they make a great mess with them then. maximum canine like carrots, apples, peas, and potato. particularly with some pork or poultry. consistently provide them a number of meat, bones, rawhide, and so on. ignore concerning to the idiots that say those issues will kill your canine. at the same time as which would be genuine for a number of those sickly, inbred, shivering, toy breeds that are recommend to slot in purses etc, maximum have actual no situation.

I agree with your statements, but do not see a question that you did not already answer. My two cents: I don't feed my dogs dry food of any quality, I use the BARF diet. I used to use "Chicken Soup" brand when I still fed dry kibble, it worked pretty well, but nothing beats natural food the way dogs are supposed to eat.

Because they're DOGS! Part of being a domesticated dog in the modern world, is to enjoy table-scraps and treats and other stuff. I've got 2 pure-bread, AKC registered Collies, and, for most of their lives, we've given them table-scraps. Now, unfortunately, they're old and they can't handle anything other than kibbles and rice and boiled chicken. But, when they were young and hardy, they enjoyed it all. Don't deprive your dog of the good stuff.

a wolf that hunts in the wild would eat all that stuff. dogs are related to wolfs and woundn't mind eating that stuff. dog chow is the most junkyest dog food and is found mostly in cheap stores. natural choice and sience diet are the best and expencice so thats why you never see them in cheap stores. if the dog doesnt like the food it wount eat it and you can return it to the store. people usally make their dogs food anyway.

my dog eats grass. so there.

No No No Purplespark... Most animals do not usually consume the guts, feet and beaks. They will, but not for nutritional value...
