What other civilized country in the world that allows undocumented people to come into their country at will? No civilized country can maintain the status quo for very long allowing it to happen.
The media tends to portray every Mexican who crosses the border as a hard working bracero coming across the border to work and better support their families and many of them are. But what about violent street gangs, the drug smugglers, the rabbal rousers and the potential terrorists?In the years to come we will be forced to deal with this problem in a lot of ways. It will become pandemic, militant and dangerous and until we get some people in Washington who have enough guts to deal with it, it’s just going to get bigger and bigger

All the ones i've seen (and i've seen a LOT) are just a bunch of FREELOADERS!!!!! I live in a border state,and i have SEEN the effects that ILLEGALS have on our welfare system!!!!

They actually want a better life, contrary to popular belief. There hasn't been any proof that Mexicans are potential terrorists, so how do you know that? How can you tell that they're even 'rabbal rousers', members of violent street gangs or even drug smugglers. If there were drug smugglers from Mexico, they would've gone underground to sneak the drugs across the border without going through the checkpoints. I don't think it will become pandemic, militant, or dangerous because there's no way to tell if there are any illegal immigrants amongst them who are drug smugglers, violent criminals, potential terrorists, or 'rabbal rousers'. There are people who are in Washington who have the guts to deal with it, they just aren't the kind of people YOU want(ie. ignorant xenophobes). Oh wait, it's the 'liberal' media that portrays them all as being hard working people who come across the border to work and support their families, isn't it?

Probably all people from all countries want a better life when they go to the USA. The problem is, most of these people have an unrealistic idea of how to be successful in the US. Once they become disillusioned, then the bad things start to happen like drug dealing, gangs, prostitution, gambling, turf wars, etc.

Those that do make it are well-off but are branded as traitors by their own countrymen. In a sense it is true because immigrants who are successful have to remain loyal to the US and the American dream. Otherwise they can be deported.

Now, in relation to immigrantd who are secret or potential terrorists, they basically have a set agenda to begin with, therefore, the American dream means absolutely nothing to them. Only their mission to screw the USA through an act of terror is of value to them.

Stereotypes are always wrong...but must of the illegals I know are just out to work and make money. The ones who have been here a long time, purchased houses, etc, and have had kids...the kids do not; they are just like Americans; looking for a free ride.

Now if we hand them a free ride...I have no doubt many will take it.

Thus I would be a bigger support of elimination of the free ride for citizens than giving it to more people.

Those various problem groups you mention? I believe a program of immediate deportation would eliminate a lot of them. Not just through the deportation but through the example. Kids may be lazy but they aren't all stupid.

I'd like to give an alternative view. I've met quite a few of these so called illegal immigrants. In fact, they had id and worked at a company I worked at. These people came here to work and they registered, and yes they pay taxes because they had to fill out the same employment forms as everyone else. These people had better attendance than most white employees.

So to me, these people are here to work, and they got hired because the whites would quit. As openings came up, the whites would quit within one or two weeks. They started to hire Mexicans (with documentation) and those people did not quit. Within two years over 50% of the employees are now Mexicans at that place.

So, are these workers here for a free ride if they work for their money?

I would imagine that if they wanted a better life, they would take steps to liberate the Mexican government of its corruption.
