A school with a majority of blacks or Hispanics will in all likelihood be a violent place and an extremely difficult learning environment. (sad but true) If you look at predominately white private schools you'll see higher test scores and better sports and arts programs. I guess you get what you pay for

If you did you r research and found the articles/studies from the Washington Post, Time, Newsweek, and dozens and dozens of other places, you would find that the average private school student graduates 1.5-2.5 grade levels higher in all subject areas. AMEN. Next off, people can scream diversity all they like as if that will somehow get them a better job or more scholarships...it doesn't. The real world out there doesn't care what color your classmates are, it only cares about results. Why a raciallt diverse school where discipline is good and everyone studies to the best of there ability is the ideal, so we all get nice and well rounded, it is very very rare. Do we fualt the parents of kids who are able to pay $10,000 a year for a higher achieving school that is less diverse, safer, has a clearer path for scholarships? No, God Bless them that they recongnize the literal war zone that is our modern inner city schools. What about public schools called magnet schools that take only the cream of the crop? They are not intellectually diverse as you won't find lazy kids there? I think you need to put children in the best possible learning environment. BUT that is only half of education. The other half is coming from a family that values education with parents who are caring and engaged in the child's learning process. It doesn't matter if you are rich and white if daddy is off drunk and absent or if you are black and poor and baby daddy is in jai. The bottom line is that the white kid is just as deprived of a positive and stable male parent, just at a different economic level. The kid is still going to be screwed up.

I was researching colleges during my senior year 2 years ago, and found one that would have been great for me.

Why couldn't I go? Well, it was "black" only.

So you know what? Until diversity in schools is enforced for EVERY race, and not just every race but "white" (which I hate being classified as, by the way. It's not a friggin' race, people - just like "black" isn't), let there be "white" only schools. Who gives a damn, just avoid those who wish to be pushed into the corner of society and be by themselves, and be a normal person.

As you get older, you will find out that the colors in the world that matter are not red, yellow, black, and white, but green, silver, and gold. The true colors that dictate any policy.

I think it is more about economics unfortunately, I would think all parents would want the best education they can get for the children.
