Society tends to hold up fake hero's as better then the real ones. What do you think?

Well, if you are merely considering the purpose of a hero, the point is generally to increase the overall attitude of the people, so if a fake hero does that, then fake is just fine.
However, if you are considering the definition of a hero, then fake is no substitute.

This one belongs in the philosophy area, not religion and spirituality.
And sure, a fake hero can serve needs ... we need heros desperately.
In the long run, a real hero is going to save the day tho.

It's just comes down to belief...So, yes Look at Santa, the tooth fairy,Harry Potter, Presidents, educators, history,mythology,Sports Hero's, Hollywood Stars, TV stars, Music Video's, Military Personel, And you better believe, these deserve to be hero's.

a hero should be a role model for a person.
so dies it really matter if it is comic book or real life.
the best here is one that teaches people to have honor in their lives, and to be respectful of other people.
does it really matter if your hero is SUPERMAN or Magic Jhonson
as long at that hero promotes a positive self image and gives people a sense of right and wrong.

No matter what name it goes by, hero, hoagie, sub, po' boy, a real one is sooooooo much better than fake one. Fake ones taste like felt.
