i am 5'4" and 140lbs. i have already lost 17lbs and i want to lose 15 more lbs in the next couple of months. how do i lose my stubborn belly fat so i can show off the ab muscles i have underneath? i want a flat stomach so that i can fit into jeans easier and look better with t-shirts on. also, whenever i eat, i feel like my stomach gets bloated and my stomach sticks out of my shirts more, you know, the area above my navel. i just feel like my whole stomach area (from sternum to gut) protrudes and it makes me not very confident. i would really like some weight loss tips please. thank you for your time.

2 1/2 years ago I wanted to lose about 30 lbs. After doing research on a lot of diets, I found only 1 that really had a lot of scientific support. It is called Calorie Restriction (CR for short) and has only 2 rules:

1. Cut your calories significantly (20% to 30%)

2. Make sure you get 100% of your nutritional needs.

You can eat anything you want, as long as it fits within those rules.

I lost 1 to 2 lbs per week . In fact, I had to up my calories to keep from losing faster than that, which would be unhealthy. I lost the 30 lbs and I have kept the weight off.

The hard part of CR is tracking your calories and nutrition. I carry around a piece of paper and jot down what I eat soon after I eat it, so I don't forget, which is easy to do. Then each day or so, I add up all the calories and nutrients. It is a pain. But the payoff is great.

Here is a wonderful website for getting nutrition information:

http://www.nutritiondata.com/

I would suggest this diet only for an adult who is willing to keep track of nutrition. Cutting calories without good nutrition is unhealthy.

The thing about the diet is that scientists and companies are interested in it because it not only makes animals much healthier (much less heart disease, cancer, etc), it makes them live longer. In the case of rats and mice, 20% to 30% longer. No one knows if this will happen in humans yet, but the health benefits for humans show up pretty quickly, too (lowered cholesterol, lower LDL, lower weight, etc).

I intend to stick with this diet the rest of my life, just because of all the benefits that happened to me.

A couple of month's ago I started a website to keep track of my personal results, show some of the most interesting scientific results, and link to other websites/blogs where people discuss their experiences, give recipes, etc.

The website is:

http://www.nbrhd.net/CR/CR.htm

Hope your dieting works out well. Congratulations on already having lost 17 lbs. That is pretty impressive.

Best of luck,
Bob

Try the Souper Soup Diet at lillieross.com. You can sign up to receive the diet for free & they will also email you diet tips M-Th each week. This diet really works...I have used it several times; especially when I wanted to lose fast.

or

Try the Fiber One Diet:
1 bowl of Fiber One cereal 3xday (breakfast, lunch & dinner)with skim milk (I use fat free Lactaid)
1 tv dinner (400 calories or less) for dinner
Drink 64 ozs water (drink plenty water or the fiber will constipate you)
Exercise 30 minutes each day
Note: This diet keeps you very regular (bms)

GOOD LUCK!

swap out brown rice or quinoa yes even the new super food which both add up to about 220 calories per cup for cauliflower or roasted peppers that are only about 30 calories per cup

you need to lose 20 to 30 pounds for that, do lots of crunches for your tummy . eat no carbs until you have lost the wieght and as low a fat content as possible, eat green and yellow veggies, tomatoes, and raw fruits and lean meats baked or broiled, like chicken breast and fish. cut down on salt as that holds water in your tissues, drink low fat milk and eat low fat cottage cheese and low fat artificially sweetened yogurt.
