i live in a cold country and at room temperature, the butter is still hard. i tried microwaving but it melts.. what should i do?

To soften butter:
put the stick of butter in a microwave safe bowl
(I use Pyrex)
Set timer to 15 seconds and power at 15%
Check butter. Let stand about one hour. If it needs 5 or 10 more seconds, zap it.
Good luck. Also, keep the butter bowl in a bowl of warm water.

Just don't microwave it for more than 10 seconds, probably 7 seconds will do depending on the amount of butter.

You can do it in the microwave, just do it in increments of time in the microwave...like every 10 seconds, check the consistency.

The best way is on the lowest setting or i use fish defrost because it is the most delicate pulse on you microwave.

Use 30% power setting for 1 minute or less.

Put it on a low heat setting for only a few seconds. Or do it in a small sauce pan so you can keep a better eye on it.
