A lot of his paintings are ugly.

I appreciate good art, especially the kind that has deep meaning, but Picasso's art is a bit too akward for me.

Cubism on the other hand, can be quite interesting if done right. Perhaps it's the decay in paint pigments you see in most of Picasso's art, but his works are often use colors that are a bit too dark to complement the cubism. His paintings would be much more interesting if brighter, complementing collors were used.

Braque's cubism technique was better and he was more faithful to it.

Picasso's cubism is was only great in showing the ugliness of the war...

His sketches though, were good enough and developed, along with the other artworks of his, to huge selling cultural-tourist industry.

The little known fact that he ripped of Matisse puts me of from appreciating the dude. All he did was add the African mask stamp on it and taaddaa!! out comes the genius most gullible people fall for it and start going nuts for the cubism BS.
It isn't genuine art
He was the quintessential egocentric type who favour fame over real effort.

I'm not a fan of his cubism but I can see how others could like it.

I think i learned more about Picasso's works by studying his style for myself rather than asking the public at large about what their opinions are. An Art Appreciation course is designed to teach **you** about the appreciation of art and this is accomplished by teaching **you** to study the various painting styles and form your own opinion. An appreciation of art, earned by the studying of same, is a very valuable gift to give yourself.

And i don't think much of his works at all, really .... not to my taste. Manet, O'Keeffe and good ol' Vincent; well, that's another matter. =)
