I've heard the easiest way to cure that, and athlete's foot by the way, is to mix a cup of Clorox bleach with enough water to cover your feet. It'll feel slimy at first. But sit and watch tv or watever until the water gets cold. Do that 3 times a week (you may not even need to do it longer than a week), and it should clear up. Course you want to rinse your feet off afterwards. And don't sit there if it's uncomfortable or you think you're having an allergic reaction to the Clorox, because some people are allergic to bleach. But a lot of people use it 'cause it's cheap and quick. And make sure you spray your shoes with something so you don't get reinfected. If that doesn't work and it's still bad, you might need to get on an antibiotic. I've also heard you should eat yougurt besides to help build up the good bacteria, especially if she's on birth control pills. Hmmm, never heard of the peroxide. But it seems like that would work as well. That's what I love about this site, ya learn somethiing new every day! I knew peroxide was good to brush with because it keeps your teeth healthy, but it never occured to me to use it as a footbath. Makes sense though, and certainly can't hurt to try. And it's certainly cheap enough. Let me know if it works. Oops, I almost forgot. Listerine!! It's a lot more expensive, but supposedly will kill just about any nail fungus if you soak your feet in it a couple times a week.

After youhave bathed or showered for the day and the toenails are hydrated from soaking in the water, dab them dry with a towel and apply a couple of drops of tea tree oil to each infected toe nail, If the TTO irritates the skin, dilute it 1:1 or 1:2 with olive oil.
Another home remedy is to apply Vicks VapoRub to the nails daily. The eucalyptus oil will kill the fungus.
Both these procedures will take a couple months to eradicate the
problem.

Yep. Nail fungus is one way Candida (yeast) fungus shows itself. Your friend should start eating plain yogurt (no fruit - no sugar).

She should go to a podiatrist and have the infected part of the nail removed. Then she should apply an antifungal ointment, cream or oil every day - maybe twice a day to kill off the rest of the fungus. It will take 6 months to a year. Her doctor will prescribe one, or I understand she can use tea tree oil or oil of oregano. I don't know how effective the herbals are - I have only done it with the help of the podiatrist.

Your friend needs to bathe her foot in Tea tree oil and hot water on a regular basis - 4 - 5 times per week. May take a little while, but the Tea Tree Oil will kill off the infection.
