Jesus made a statement that was really quite bold. He said that people do not want to come to the light (He is the light of the world), because their deeds are evil.
So yes...you hit the nail on the head, so to speak.

Will some people like you stop trying to speak for us and tell us (and others) who we are?? You aren't us so you can't possibly know. And then you don't even ask US about US to find out FROM US who we are as people.
The answer to your stereotypes is NO. I was born and raised a non believer and do not share your beliefs, that is why I am who I am. It has nothing to do with your god. Intimate details are only my business but I am a very moral person in that area, I drink very little and only on rare occasions and only at HOME, I have never been drunk and don't EVER want to experience that pathetic loss of control, and I have an IMMENSE amount of respect for other people.
Except for people like you who don't let us speak for ourselves and keep passing around what YOU believe of us. It is WRONG to try to speak for any people who you are not a part of.

You know, I treat people with respect (most of the time) and don't get drunk, and I'm a Pagan. I think that I am in fact much better at treating people with respect now than I was as a Christian, since I don't have to try and convert the people I see and I can see them as individuals, not "unbelievers." Other people have had the courtesy to at least *ask* rather than guess. It sounds very much like you need to work on your ability to respect others.
And yes, I do enjoy certain things that would be forbidden to me had I stayed in the Assemblies of God church. I think life is to be enjoyed, not endured. But I don't believe that God is cruel enough to provide us with the capacity for pleasure, then declare all pleasure sin.

Because they have been brainwashed by schools and the media. Every school teaches evolution and not creation even though the former is just as much improvable as the latter. They are both theories that can only be believed by faith. Yet they teach evolution as if it were fact and don’t allow creation to be taught. What makes them think their unproven theory is better than others’? It’s just what they believe. So it’s a lie to teach it as fact. And everyone knows how slanted the media is. I hear lies on the news all the time. They’re just trying to get viewers.

well this is a really tough question for me. i suppose i label myself agnostic. personally dont see any problem with quite simply not knowing i god exists or not. I've said it before and I'll say it again over and over if I have to until the day I die. There is no shame in admitting you don't know something.
theres no point in locking yourself up from enjoying life just because you believe in god. honestly, those type of people are just deep into religion. they're uneducated, ignorant fools.

As a rule, atheists that I have known live far more ethical lives, and behave much more 'morally' than most so-called 'Christians' that I have known. In other words (behavior-wise), the atheists are more 'christian' than the Christians.
It is very sad (and scary) to find out that you are incapable of behaving ethically as a matter of self-realization... and need some imaginary supernatural force to ensure your proper behavior, for fear of some kind of eternal supernatural punishment. I dread to think of what your life will be like... and the lives of everyone around... should you come to realize that all of your controlling beliefs are the product of the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of an ignorant bunch of Bronze Age fishermen and wandering goat herders.
Cooperation and altruism are inate properties of human existence... a more sophisticated version of the social organization that you can see among pods of orcas, packs of wolves, lion prides and troops of chimpanzees. Moral consensus, moral conscience and mutual empathy are evolved survival traits. These are social constructs... the social lubrication that allows people to exist together. People come away with the misconception that they don't exist, absent religion. The religious puppet masters try to perpetuate that idea, in order to protect their conduits to wealth and power... but that is a canard. This has to do entirely with human nature.

Of course, that all depends on whether God actually cares about unmarried sex and occasional drunkenness.
I reserve judgment on whether there's a God because I've never felt even the slightest flicker of numinal presence. I think it is quite possible that there is indeed a God...who may be quite uninterested in us, our erotic lives, our alcohol consumption, and the rest of what we do.

So by your logic, everyone who believes in god doesn't have premarital sex, never gets drunk, and is always respectful to everyone?
I live my life not because I want some reward or fear some punishment at the end of my life; I live it for now.

You would be dissappointed to know how few people are still waiting fot marriage to have sex, religious or not, how many of them drink, do drugs, disrespect others. And what would probably surprise you most is that there is a very low percentage of atheists in prisons. Most of the people in there, whether it be rapists drug dealers or thiefs, are religious

i don't have a religion, but i still believe that a person should lead a good life. do not harm others, do not lie, treat people woth respect. seriously, being a good human being has nothing to do with religions. i still live my life the way i want it, but i also believe in doing good and not harming or hurting others.
one thing that you, as a believer of your god should learn, do not condem others who do not believe in your god. because your question is obviously condeming those who do not have any religions. you are assuming that people who have no religions choose not to believe in any gods so that we can live a bad life.
this is one thing that i notice about believers of their own religions, they like to condem others who do not believe in their gods.

No i think most dont need to beleive in order to live.......people who dont believe are usually those that are living life instead of fearing god and missing out on life........and since when do u need God to have respect? your question could be turned to "do you think people who beleive in god are the ones that cant get lucky, cant handle a beer and only choose to respect people that have the same beliefs as them - hence the reason they feel the need to knock on everyones doors as they have no respect for others and their thoughts and beliefs....
