Well William, I can't say that I am feeling sexed out right now because I am celibate and have been for the last couple of years. But it was because I felt like sex was overrated and commitment and respect were underrated that I gave up sex for a while. I want to be loved and appreciated not just boned until the break of day. If I wanted sex, I could be having it regularly...there's always someone out here willing to get their rocks off, but you are right about sex being thrown at us from every angle. My celibacy is not always easy as pie. I am not a virgin. I am a 34 yr old divorced mother of 2 so I have been around the block and I know my way around the bedroom. I don't think it's so much that I miss sex but I do crave the intimacy between 2 people that sex can entail. So, if I am fortunate enough to connect with a man on a deeper level and feel confident that this is a long term partnership, I'll be one happy sexually active woman once again but as for now, I'm just chilling and watching others play sex games and gamble with their hearts and their health.

I don't think sex is over rated but maybe casual sex is. I'm gonna sound like a dork here, but when u r with someone who really does it for u ( a.k.a. someone u love and care about), u get to explore each other and new things, and the whole STD thing kinda goes away as well, u get to learn them and it becomes something special. Casual sex is not all that great. U don't know the person so all it really is, is a hole. Which ur right, ur hand and a great porno flick could prolly work out better for u. But when u got a girl under u (or on top, however) that knows u, wut u like, just how to work it for u to get u going. Trust me, it's nething but over rated.

Yes, I totally agree with you!! Society has thrown it out there too far...I guess that's why we have 12-13y/o's having babies right now in the world. I have wondered if it was just me feeling this way, seems that ppl rely on sex that you have to have sex no matter what you do...which is fine, I personally have grown out of that stage. There are definitely ways to be intimate without all the sex hype. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy sex, but it should not be the main focal point in life.

You should put your toy away and go home. It seems as if it is you that is seeking out this sex-driven life. Other people manage to get through entire weeks without as much titillation as you've mentioned for one hour of your time!
Use your time for something productive, like volunteering with the disabled or the hearing-impaired. Then maybe you can find more meaning for your life than sex, whether solo or with others.

Well if you feel that way, then be abstinent for a while. That way you may actually meet the one you want to spend the rest of your life with instead of just having sex with everyone you go out with. Then, once you have sex with that special person, it'll feel much better because you haven't done it in a while.

Sounds like you need to take a break. Also sounds like you need a comitment. Best way to avoid STDs and still have sex is a relationship (only if they're truthful though). I think you need to take a few monthes and not have sex. When you do again it will be so much better.

As with anything that is thrown at you from every direction - after a while it is just there.
I agree with you and that is really, really a sad thing that something that should be so wonderful is so in front of your face all the time that it becomes an annoyance.

Yes, people are obsessed with what is merely a biological urge that they've decided to market rather than display some control over. It's a lost cause... at least there are some people who aren't obsessed.

Actually yes. The more it is flaunted in our society the less it seems to mean. And for me sex is pointless without a meaning
